SPRING 2016 Graduate Registration Information ADMISSION The University offers graduate programs in clinical psychology, education, nursing and religion. Prior to registering for classes, all graduate students must be approved for admission as Regular or Provisional standing students. ADVISEMENT All graduate students must meet with their program for advising on course placement. ACADEMIC REGISTRATION PROCESS Online registration will be available to all current graduate students. Instructions for online registration will be given to students upon meeting with a program advisor. Online registration will be held between November 16 January 15. ACADEMIC CALENDAR Jan 11... Last day of classes Final Exams CHANGE OF COURSES Changes may be made online through 01/18/2016 and thereafter by filing a Request to Add or Drop Courses form in the Office of the Registrar. All ADD/DROP forms must be signed and approved by the graduate program coordinator. For regularly scheduled courses, dropping a course during the first two weeks may be done without being reflected on the transcript. A regularly scheduled class may be dropped with a grade of W within the third through eighth weeks of the semester; thereafter, the grade will be recorded as a WF when a student withdraws from a course. There is NO AUTOMATIC DROPPING of courses resulting from a student s failure to attend class sessions. For tuition refunds, please see the Refund Policy section. FINANCIAL REGISTRATION Payment arrangements for Spring 2016 may be made online through MyBill (located on the student's MyVU portal). Students can access their MyBill 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Exact terms and conditions can be obtained from the Office of Accounting Operations (OAO) by December 1 st. Graduate Expenses & Billing Information SEMESTER BILLING & FINANCIAL REGISTRATION: Based on the student s Academic Registration for the Spring 2016 semester, a Registration Statement will be emailed to the student's Vanguard email address. Semester billing and payment information can also be found on the student's MyBill (located on the MyVU portal). Students can access MyBill 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Registration Statement reflects tuition, fees, meal plan and housing charges. Estimated Financial Aid will also be reflected on your Registration statement if you have been awarded and accepted the aid. Please Note: Pending Financial Aid will not post to the student s account until their financial aid file has been completed. Financial arrangements must be made with OAO no later than 01/04/2016. To check your Financial Registration status, please visit your MyVU portal and click on the Communications tab to see what OAO and/or Financial Aid items you are missing. PAYMENT OPTIONS: Vanguard University is pleased to offer our students and families two options to pay tuition through their MyBill account. MyBill allows students to view their current charges, monthly billing statements, sign up for a payment plan, and make payments. Students can access MyBill 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Semester payment arrangements must be made prior to the published Financial Registration deadline: OPTION 1 Payment in Full: Pay the full amount referenced on your MyBill by January 4 th. **Please do NOT use this option to make a monthly Semester Payment Plan payment. OPTION 2 Semester Payment Plan: Pay your semester balance referenced on your MyBill interest free in 5 monthly installments, beginning December 1 st, or 4 installments, beginning January 1 st. STUDENTS WHO FAIL TO COMPLETE FINANCIAL REGISTRATION BY: JANUARY 4, 2016 JANUARY 11, 2016 WILL BE CHARGED A $100 LATE REGISTRATION FEE WILL BE DROPPED FROM ALL ENROLLED COURSES REFUND POLICY Tuition refunds will be made for withdrawal from the University or course load reduction when an official withdrawal form or an official add/drop form is filed with the Registrar s Office. Refunds will be based on the date of receipt of the official forms by the Registrar s Office according to the following tuition refund schedule: Withdrawal by 01/22/16 100% Withdrawal by 03/04/16 25% Withdrawal by 02/05/16 50% Withdrawal after 03/04/16 0% Refund schedule applies to tuition, room, board, student services, and unused course fees. Students who withdraw or are expelled from the institution may be required to have some or all of their financial aid returned to the various aid programs. Any student who wishes to withdraw from the university must notify the Registrar s Office of their intent to withdraw. The amount of financial aid to be returned for the student will be calculated based on the date of withdrawal. Federal aid will be returned based on the length of time the student attended during the semester. State and institutional aid will be returned based on the refund percentage applied to the student s institutional charges. UNIVERSITY-SPONSORED STUDENT HEALTH INSURANCE is available for an additional fee to graduate students enrolled in 5 units or more.
