Barcode Printing Privacy Destiny 7.0 s enhanced privacy features include the option to print patron ID cards or used patron barcode labels without the eyereadable barcode number. Barcodes for Temporary Copies When printing copy barcodes, you now have the option to include or exclude temporary copies. Enhanced Searching New List Functionality List functionality has been expanded to provide more opportunities for collaboration. My List has been renamed to Resource Lists and is located in the side links along the left side of the screen. Teachers now have the ability to set up, name and save multiple lists, share lists by making them public to users with access rights, and email lists. Teachers or media specialists can create and share more comprehensive reading/resource lists by including One Search, WebPath Express and State Standards results in their lists. Searching Interface in Spanish or French Providing more searching flexibility for their non-english speaking students, each site now has the option to allow students to search using screens that have been translated into Spanish or French. The search results are returned in the language in which the item has been cataloged. Search for Award-Winning Titles Help guide students to quality materials by conducting targeted searches for titles that have won state, national or literary awards using the convenient drop-down award list. This service is included at no cost for Follett users with current support agreements. Automatic Citations Save time and ensure proper attribution of sources using this new feature that enables you to automatically build and edit MLA-style citations for any item within your catalog, as well as for web sites and media. Print the citations, email them in a text file or paste them directly into reports. Search History Save valuable research time through this new feature that retains a list of your previous 20 searches, which can be reexecuted when you resume searching. Search history not accessed in the past 30 days is deleted through daily maintenance. To ensure privacy, each guest user should reset or close the browser at the conclusion of the search session. Improved Did You Mean? Results The Did You Mean? functionality has been improved to display only alternate search terms or results that will match your collection. Stop words will also be ignored. Inventory Improvements Name Inventories, View Summaries Managing library, media or textbook inventories is easier with the ability to create and name your inventories. Inventories will no longer be designated as partial or full. In addition, you will be able to view a summary of all In Progress and Completed inventories, sort the Unaccounted For list, and run the new In Progress and Completed Inventories report. Multiple Inventory Support Inventory functionality has been modified to allow you to run multiple inventories at the same time. 2 Cataloging Time-Savers Cataloging Multiple Copies Destiny 7.0 saves you time in cataloging by enabling you to add multiple copies of a library or media title at the same time. Site-Specific Tags When merging records, site-specific tags are now maintained. Circulation Flexibility Patron List Enhancement A new option in Site Configuration allows you to choose which fields to display in your patron list: Homeroom and Grade Level or your own User-Defined Fields 1 and 2. Reserve Multiple Copies To ensure students have access to resources, teachers and staff can now use one request to reserve multiple copies of the same library title for a specific timeframe. Textbook Condition and Textbook Status Textbook Condition and Textbook Status reports are now available at the site level. These reports also have new information to help districts determine the replacement value of their old and damaged textbooks. Administration Textbook Forecasting To help you plan and manage the allocation of textbooks, the textbook forecasting feature allows you to create a forecast and autopopulate it with departments, classes, sections, textbooks and class enrollment. You can then modify the class enrollment number and the textbooks associated with the classes. This flexible new feature enables the creation of forecasts for a site, site type or the entire district. Once the forecast is finalized, the user can view the demand for each textbook, along with local and offsite inventory. Searching Keyword and State/Textbook ID Search Two new textbook searches are available with Destiny 7.0: a keyword search across multiple fields (title, author, additional info, Text ID), and a specific search for the Text ID. Cataloging Delete Textbook Titles Without Copies Destiny 7.0 gives you the ability to remove textbook titles without copies. You can preserve etextbooks and/or titles added since a particular date. Textbook Copy View Changes This new feature enables for rolled up counts of textbooks by site to make transfers and resource allocation more efficient. New Additional Information Field A new field on the Textbook Title record provides an area for additional information that districts may want to track, including department, rental fees, etc. Inventory Improvements Name Inventories, View Summaries Managing library, media or textbook inventories is easier with the ability to create and name your inventories. Circulation Patron Textbooks Per Class In the patron status, you may now view all the textbooks associated with the classes in which a patron is enrolled. 3

Loan Period Adjustment You can set your system to reflect your school s open or closed days to align with your loan policies. Once you change this setting in Site Configuration, you will also need to adjust your loan periods accordingly. Enhanced Scheduling Provides an option for district media centers to configure delivery dates on a per school basis. This is ideal for districts that do not ship materials every day to each school. SUBSCRIPTION SERVICES Building the Library-Classroom Connection One Search Users of the One Search subscription service can now search their online databases using Destiny s power search option, without having to launch a separate search. The search interface has the same familiar look and feel as Destiny. WebPath Express WebPath Express administrative settings and statistics can be configured from within Destiny s search setup sidelinks, eliminating the need to log into the external WebPath Express web site. Reading Programs Subscribers to Follett s Reading Program Service and Accelerated Reader s Enterprise version can now save significant time ensuring they have AR quizzes to match their collection. The quizzes are automatically uploaded into Destiny once a week and your Reading Programs records are seamlessly updated. HARDWARE & LABELS Follett Falcon Scanner You can now search for patrons by name, in addition to searching by barcode. ImageTeam 3800 Scanner This convenient circulation scanner now sports a new, sleeker casing with the same functionality as the current model. Barcode Labels You may now request your barcode labels on rolls, in addition to standard sheets. State Standards For subscribers to this service, results of a state standards search now includes national standards associated with titles obtained from Follett Library Resources. 4

Access Levels Access levels are now split out to enable the administrator to limit the access rights to specific products, offering greater control over which products the user can see. Multiple Alias Support Now manage patron records easier by entering any number of aliases for a Destiny site. Enter aliases if schools in your district share a library and you update patron information using an XML file upload. New Landing Page The single site version (Destiny for Schools) and Destiny district version have been aligned to ensure single site customers have access to the same features and functionality as district customers. As a result, the landing pages for both versions are now identical. Simply click on your school name to access Destiny. Internet Explorer Support Destiny 7.0 supports Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0. Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Support Destiny 7.0 supports Microsoft SQL Server 2005, recommended for optimal performance of your Destiny system.
