Nintex Licensing Detail Further Explained Non-production Licensing Non-production licenses (development, testing, acceptance etc.) can be purchased at 50% of the production license cost. Software Assurance subscribers Each production license covered by Software Assurance is granted one equivalent non-production license. These licenses are time-limited to coincide with the annual subscription period of the Software Assurance. Premium Support subscribers Each production license covered by Premium Support is granted an unlimited * number of equivalent non-production licenses while the cover is in effect. These licenses are time-limited to coincide with the annual subscription period of the Premium Support. ( * Fair use policy applies) Disaster Recovery Systems Licensing of fail-over servers and cluster based DR systems is determined according to the number of active instances that can occur simultaneously. For example, an active/passive or cold fail-over configuration does not require a separate license, while active/active or warm/hot fail-over configurations require every instance to be licensed. Product Upgrades When upgrading an existing license to a higher edition or eligible superseding product, the upgrade fee payable is the price difference calculated on current list prices, regardless of the original purchase price paid. When a current Software Assurance or Premium Support contract is in effect, the upgrade fee is calculated likewise and then prorated for the remaining contract period. 3
A Quick Guide to SharePoint Deployments SharePoint01 SharePoint01 SharePoint02 Central Administration Office SharePoint Server Search WSS Search WSS Incoming Email Single server deployment All SharePoint services are hosted on a single server. The SharePoint server SharePoint01 is required for the Nintex license. If SQL is hosted on a separate server, we do not require these details for Nintex licensing. Small farm deployment The SharePoint services are spread over two servers. The front end server which users will access via their web browsers, SharePoint01 must be listed as a front end server in the Nintex license file. The back end server hosting all other non user facing services, SharePoint02 must be listed as a back end server in the Nintex license file. SharePoint will use all farm member servers to perform workflow activities. 4

Farm deployment with hot standby Similar to the farm deployment, however, a standby server is used in case of system failure. In this scenario users may be confined to a subset of servers but at a moment s notice, a standby server with a different server name can be substituted. In this case, all SharePoint front end servers including the standby server, SharePoint04, must be listed as front end servers in the Nintex license file. All other farm member servers, SharePoint05 and SharePoint06, must be listed as back end servers in the Nintex license file. 5
