Suranjita Khaund, IMBA 2006 Program Manager, the Research Institute Hospital for Sick Children Suranjita s involvement with non profits goes way back to childhood in India. She worked there at the grass-roots level with organizations that helped underprivileged people that the rudimentary social service system was unable to help. Over the years she found the work highly rewarding and her engagement continued on after moving to Canada. Graduating from the Schulich School of Business in 2006, Suranjita s first job was working for a US-based company with clients like Walmart, BMW, P&G, etc. The work was demanding as well as rewarding, but something seemed missing and soon she found herself drawn back into the non-profit sector, this time not as a volunteer but as an employee. Suranjita joined Municipal Property Assessment Corporation for four years where she helped shape a new direction in the organization s strategy. Later Suranjita moved to the Hospital for Sick Children, a place that provided services that made a difference that she could see. She currently manages various programs and projects in their Information Management portfolio. Any day a walk through the hallways serves to reinforce why she came here in the first place and always makes her appreciate her decision more. Throughout these years Suranjita has also been a member of the Board of Directors for Across Boundaries, an organization providing support and guidance to people suffering from severe mental health issues, another role that has been intrinsically rewarding.
