IGERT Requirements: Curriculum Need to take 3 out of 4 core courses in methods Statistics (STAT 509 or STAT 512 513) Machine learning (CSE 546 or STAT 535). Data management (CSE 544) Data visualization (CSE 512) We also plan to add a list of optional applied courses 7

Application Details: Important Dates July 15th 2014: Application deadline September 1st 2014: Notification 11
Application Details: Pre conditions To apply, students must: Have completed no more than 12 months in a PhD program at the UW as of September 2014. Be willing to follow the requirements of the IGERT program Be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident (NSF Requirement) Accepted into the PhD program in Astronomy, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Genome Sciences, Oceanography, or Statistics (the participating departments ) 12
Application Details: What to SUBMIT Student's name, UW id, home department, current year of study, and UW graduate transcript (if available) Student's CV Name and departments of primary and secondary advisors Short letter of support from primary and secondary advisors One page description of the PhD research and education plan (an initial list of courses that you plan to take, including the IGERT courses). The student should work with his or her advisors in order to put that plan together for the application Note that faculty outside your department will read your application 13
