AAS: Surgical Technology AY2015 - AY2017 Program Assessment Plan Person completing Assessment Plan: Cris Aguilar Program Mission Statement: The Surgical Technology Program at the College of Southern Nevada will provide students with the opportunity to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to gain employment as entry-level surgical technologists, and become contributing members of the health care team. Current Program Outcomes Graduates of this program will be able to: 1. Demonstrate the highest level of surgical conscience in the operating room. 2. Demonstrate the ability to function as part of the health care profession. 3. Demonstrate entry level competencies necessary for employment. 4. Demonstrate competencies necessary to prepare for the Surgical Technology National Certifying Examination. Proposed Changes to Program Outcomes Graduates of this program will be able to: 1. Direct Measure of Learning - Clinical Competency Evaluation II is used to evaluate student s ability to demonstrate aseptic technique during the Preoperative Phase, Intraoperative Phase, and Postoperative Phase in the Clinical Operating Room setting.
