How to Use the Transfer Guide In an effort to maximize the transfer of credit, we attempt to match-up the community college associate degrees with the Davenport University bachelor degree that has the best fit. This does not mean that you can pursue only this degree. You can choose to pursue any bachelor degree at Davenport University that you desire; however, the credits may not have the same fit with other bachelor degrees. The Transfer Guide was designed specifically for use by students interested in transferring to Davenport University. The Transfer Guide is easier to use and interpret than the Articulation Plans. HOW TO DETERMINE WHICH TRANSFER GUIDE YOU SHOULD FOLLOW 1. Click on the bookmark labeled Cover Page. 2. Scroll through the associate degree programs listed on the left hand side of the page and locate the name of the associate degree program you are pursuing at the community college. a. If the associate degree you are pursing at the community college is not on the list, please contact an admissions representative at the Davenport University location nearest you for assistance. 3. Click on the program name you are pursuing at the community college and the corresponding Davenport University Transfer Guide will appear. 4. Print two copies of the Transfer Guide - one for your records and one to give to your Davenport University admissions representative.. When you meet with your Davenport University admissions representative make sure to let him/her know the specific Transfer Guide you are interested in following to earn your bachelor s degree from Davenport University. HOW TO USE THE TRANSFER GUIDE The Transfer Guide is composed of 3 sections of information: 1. The first section, labeled, FIRST AND SECOND YEAR: COMPLETION OF ASSOCIATE'S DEGREE, identifies the kind of associate degree that was completed at the community college. This is done by checking one of the two boxes in the first section. 2. The second section is labeled THIRD YEAR. In this section you will review your transcript from the community college and check off the courses that you completed to earn your associate degree. The courses that are not checked off are the courses that you may take either at the community college or at Davenport University. 3. The third and final section, labeled FOURTH YEAR: Bachelor Degree Completion identifies those courses that must be taken at Davenport University to meet program major and residency requirements in order to earn a bachelor s degree through Davenport University. a. This section also identifies the number of credits accepted in transfer and the number of credits to be completed after transfer. b. This section also identifies Davenport University locations where each bachelor degree program can be completed in its entirety. If you have questions about this Transfer Guide or the process to become a Davenport University student, please contact an admissions representative at the Davenport University location nearest you.
