1 How to Use the Degree Completion Plans TO DETERMINE WHICH DEGREE COMPLETION PLAN YOU SHOULD FOLLOW 1. Click on the bookmark labeled Cover Page 2. Scroll through the degree/diploma programs listed on the left hand side of the page and locate the name of the degree/diploma program you are pursuing at York. Bachelor degrees are listed first, followed by the three year diploma programs followed by the two year diploma programs 3. Click on the program name you are pursuing at York and the corresponding Davenport University Degree Completion Plan will appear 4. Print this Degree Completion Plan for your records TO IDENTIFY THE COURSES YOU WILL NEED TO TAKE TO EARN YOUR MASTER S/BACHELOR S DEGREE At the bottom of each Degree Completion Plan there is a legend that explains what courses you must take in order to earn your bachelor s/ master s degree. The type of degree/diploma you have earned, a bachelor s degree, three year diploma or two year year diploma, will determine the number of classes you will need to complete through Davenport University to earn your bachelor s/ master s degree. If you graduate with a bachelor s degree, you must take all classes labeled with This will ensure that you will meet the program and residency requirements needed to graduate with your Master s degree from Davenport University If you graduate with a three year diploma you must take all classes labeled with This will ensure that you will meet the program and residency requirements needed to graduate with your Bachelor s degree from Davenport University If you graduate with a two year diploma you must take all classes labeled with and This will ensure that you will meet the program and residency requirements needed to graduate with your Bachelor s degree from Davenport University HOW YOUR DEGREE/DIPLOMA WILL BE ACCEPTED AT DAVENPORT UNIVERSITY If you complete a 4 year degree Davenport University will recognize your entire completed bachelor s degree. In order to meet Davenport University residency requirements students must complete a minimum of 39 credit hours with Davenport University to complete a Master of Business Administration degree (MBA), a minimum of 31 credit hours with Davenport University to complete a Master of Science Information Assurance degree (MSIA) or a minimum of 39 credit hours to complete a Master of Public Health degree (MPH). Completion of your master s degree will depend on how many courses a semester you are able to take. Students must meet all admissions requirements to be accepted into the MBA, MSIA or MPH degree program. If you complete a 3 year diploma Davenport University will grant you 90 credit hours toward the completion of a bachelor degree program. You will need to complete a minimum of 30 credit hours (approximately one year of full time attendance) to complete your bachelor degree program. Students must complete a minimum total of 120 semester credit hours to earn a bachelor degree. The total credit hours will include the completed 3 year diploma classes plus any courses completed through Davenport University. If you complete a 2 year diploma Davenport University will grant you 60 credit hours toward the completion of a bachelor degree program. You will need to complete a minimum of 60 credit hours (approximately two years of full time attendance) to complete your bachelor degree. Students must complete a minimum total of 120 semester credit hours to earn a bachelor degree. The total credit hours will include the completed 2 year diploma classes plus any courses completed through Davenport University. In order to meet Davenport University residency requirements students must complete a minimum of 30 credit hours which must include FINC235 and 6 upper level BUSN, MGMT and/or MKTG courses and BUSN495. It is highly recommended that the marked courses be completed at Davenport University in order to meet this residency requirement. If an equivalent course was taken previously, another course may be chosen from those listed. Exceptions may be made for students that have completed the Graduate certificate program (see below).
