Vantaa Energy s motives for taking a part in waste to energy project Potential for new profitable business. We aim at grow energy production from out of emmission trading scheme and from renewable sources. electricity production will not get free emission rights after year 2012. In heat production the free emission rights will be reduced until year 2020. The city of Vantaa neads new district heating capasity Martinlaakso boiler #1 must be stopped 2015 From the city building forecast it is foreseen that the demand of district heat will grow until the year 2020. Waste to Energy plant ensures heat supply reliability in import fuels delivery disturbances. 15.1.2010 / PK 8
Vantaa Energy s Waste yo Energy Plant Site location Långmossebergen in east-vantaa. Nominal capacity of electricity and district heat 62 MW and 99 MW. Waste will be burned in two grate fired steam generators. Electricity will be produced by a gas turbine and a steam turbine. The live steam from WtE boilers is superheated before entering the steam turbine in separate HRSG boiler of the gas turbine. Civil works will be started in the midle of year 2011. Take over earliest spring 2014 and latest beginning of year 2016. Estimation of the investment cost is 250 milj.. Number of employees 45. 15.1.2010 / PK 9
