The outstanding features of a machine tool are dictated primarily by its CNC control, by its drive system and by its spindle technology. n The andronic 3060 CNC control is an open system which can be flexibly adapted to specific tasks by hardware n The ServoOne servocontroller meets the highest demands in terms of dynamics and synchronism based on integration of advanced control algorithms. A broad range of encoders can be evaluated. LTi s patented GPOC method eliminates offset, gain, phase and eccentricity errors of analog encoder signals. A wide range of safety functions are built-in. The new SystemOne CM highly compact multi-axis automation system is being continually extended to cover new machine tool applications. n As a full-service provider with over 50 years experience, Fiege develops, designs and manufactures motor spindles for industrial production engineering applications. Outstanding process stability for high-performance applications is assured by in-process quality control from the raw material stage through to trial running. High-precision ball bearings fitted under a defined pre-tension guarantee precise concentricity and long life. The custom-developed labyrinth, with active air purge, lastingly protects the high-grade Fiege spindle system against dust and cooling lubricant. n Magnetic bearing technology from LEViTEC provides magnetic support for high-speed spindles. The non-contact magnetic bearing technology substantially extends bearing life. The high-precision concentricity improves surface quality. The low power loss means there is less heat on the shaft and so accuracy is improved. n Sensors from Sensitec are used wherever speed, angle and position need to be measured by non-contact means, with high dynamism and precision, in robust environments. and software add-ons. This enables customers to incorporate their own know-how into the control. It can handle a wide range of interpolation modes, with as many as 16 axes interpolating simultaneously, as well as complex coordinate transformations. A dynamic Look-Ahead buffer provides a preview of up to 25,000 blocks. The processing time of an NC block is < 100 µs. The reference positions are set every 125 µs via the sercos interface. 10 11
