THE GRADUATE SCHOOL THE COLLEGE AT BROCKPORT, STATE UNIVERSITY OF NEW YORK 350 NEW CAMPUS DRIVE BROCKPORT, NEW YORK 14420 585-395-5817 kgay@brockport.edu DEADLINE: April 15, 2016 PAGE ONE Graduate Diversity Fellowship (GDF) Application Sign Below The College at Brockport welcomes your interest in a wonderful opportunity, the SUNY Graduate Diversity Fellowship. This competitive award is open to highly qualified applicants who can contribute to the diversity of the college s student body and demonstrate they have overcome a disadvantage or other impediment to success in higher education. This prestigious fellowship for a graduate student matriculated in a Master s degree or Certificate of Advanced Study program at Brockport starts in the fall 2016 semester. It provides a stipend of up to $3750 per academic semester as well as an in-state tuition scholarship (at the Brockport rate) for up to 9 graduate credits of degree required courses per semester (if the fellow has fewer than 9 credits left to complete the degree, the scholarship will cover those fewer credits). Students must be in good academic standing to be eligible for this award. Please note: applicants need to complete this three-page application and the Personal Statement, collect at least one signed and sealed Letter of Recommendation (form attached), and submit all of these materials along with a resume to The Graduate School. They can email the application to Ms. Kandie Gay at kgay@brockport.edu by 4 pm April 15, 2016 (recommenders should email their letters directly to this address), deliver it to The Graduate School in Morgan Hall by that time and date, or mail the application to the address above (postmarked by April 15, 2016). Graduate Diversity Fellowship (GDF) Guidelines: 1. Fellows must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents. 2. Recipients must be in good academic standing and matriculated for at least 9 credits of remaining degree required coursework (unless they have fewer credits left to complete their degree programs). With department approval, fellows can register and pay for additional courses. 3. Fellows must comply with all graduate policies (http://www.brockport.edu/policies/category.php?id=15) and meet their program s academic requirements. 4. Fellows must be available during normal business hours to work an average of 15-20 hours each week during the semester (including week before and after classes) in their assigned office (several GDFs are assigned as student advisors in the Arthur O. Eve EOP Program; others are generally placed in Office of Diversity or their academic departments). 5. Fellows retain their award only if they fulfill these guidelines, remain in good academic standing, perform their work placements well, and are continuously enrolled as full-time students. I understand and acknowledge these guidelines for the GDFP: (sign here): Date:
