Increased access, scalability and outreach are at the heart of the center s lifelong learning function which is made possible through the tactical and efficient utilization of latest e- Learning tools and techniques. Main Objectives of ELCC Lifelong learning program: Equip citizens and businesses with the technology and business skills needed to compete in today s global knowledge-based economy through the provision of high-quality, standardized IT and business education. Build the capacity of the national e-learning/e-content and build a cadre of highly competent e-learning professionals and practitioners. Develop the capacity of the local e-learning industry to adopt innovative learning solutions in partnership with world-class firms. Upgrade channels of lifelong learning that foster socio-economic development through e-learning and delivery centers. Main Activities of ELCC Lifelong learning program: e-learning professionals certification programs The certification provides a framework for individuals to acquire the necessary competencies to design, deliver, support and evaluate quality e-learning programs. Strategic alliances Establish collaborative partnerships with technology and content providers for the exchange of expertise, intellectual property and technology. Training of Trainers (ToT) Prepare instructors to facilitate the blended learning programs and provide them with the necessary IT and e- Learning management skills to manage their e-learning classrooms. Content Development and Localization Develop first-hand, adaptable and localized content to keep training flexible and engaging. National Delivery Network Create a nationwide delivery network to act as outlets for the delivery of e-learning programs. Potential learners include self-employed entrepreneurs, SMEs, executives and professionals in governmental and private sector organizations. The course delivery relies on mentoring, networking, case studies, role modeling, videos, Illustrations, action learning and group projects. The course is a joint collaboration between ELCC and Cisco Entrepreneur Institute. The course is conducted in two languages: English and Arabic. iexec Seminar on core principles and lessons 2 days (8 to 12 hours) iexec Education program 2-4 weeks (40 hours) Starting a Business ` The course is specifically designed to empower individuals who want to start a small to mediumsized business. It is a practical, comprehensive Internet business course on how to successfully start, operate and manage a business. Potential learners include self-employed entrepreneurs who are thinking about starting a new business. The course delivery relies on mentoring, networking, case studies, role modeling, videos, Illustrations, action learning and group projects. The course is a joint collaboration between ELCC and Cisco Entrepreneur Institute. The course is available in English. Growing a Business A practical, comprehensive business course on how to successfully grow a business. It is designed to empower small to medium-sized business entrepreneurs to expand their business by equipping them with the necessary knowledge, resources, and networking opportunities. This course is designed for entrepreneurs who own and operate a small to medium-sized business. The course delivery relies on mentoring, networking, case studies, role modeling, videos, Illustrations, action learning and group projects. The course is a joint collaboration between ELCC and Cisco Entrepreneur Institute and is available in English. About a total of 35-40 hours including facilitated discussions, group exercises, case studies and online Communication Skills for Business and Computing The course aims to provide participants with the language skills and knowledge required to communicate effectively in English in the business and computing contexts. Course target audience includes employees and executives in both private and governmental sector organizations. The course delivery mode is blended learning (e-learning+ facilitator-based). The course is a joint collaboration between ELCC and Middlesex University. The course is conducted in English. TRACK 2 INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY IT Essentials: PC Hardware and Software The course provides an excellent introduction to the IT industry and in-depth exposure to personal computers, hardware, and operating systems. Students learn the functionality of various hardware and software components and pest practices in maintenance and safety issues. Target audience of the course is employees, executives and students. The course delivery mode is blended learning (e-learning+ facilitator-based). The course is a joint collaboration between ELCC and Cisco Networking Academy. The course is conducted in two languages: English and Arabic. For Facilitators: A total of 40 hours including 30 hours of facilitated discussions, group exercises, case studies and online course materials and 10 hours of hands-on lab activity. For Students: A total of 72 hours including 45 hours of facilitated discussions, group exercises, case studies and online course materials and 25 hours of hands-on lab activity. IT in Organizations The course is specifically designed to enable non-it professionals to get acquainted with using Information Technology in their organizations. It provides the basic computer operations and processing, customization for internet options and awareness of database concepts and applications. Potential learners include non-it professionals who seek to get sufficient and practical knowledge on IT. The course delivery mode is blended learning (e-learning+ facilitatorbased). The course is a joint collaboration between ELCC and Middlesex University and is available in English. Business Computer Basics The Business Computer Basics course provides learners with basic computer and software literacy and to make them fully acquainted with basic computer and software systems and gain internet proficiency. It also targets entrepreneurs who already have their own business and need to improve and expand their scope of work. The course delivery mode is blended learning (e-learning+ facilitator-based). The course is a joint collaboration between ELCC and Middlesex University and is available in English. TRACK 3 E-LEARNING DIPLOMA The ELCC e-learning Diploma is designed and developed by a consortium of e-learning specialists to introduce certification for e-learning professionals. The diploma provides e- Learning practitioners with a framework to acquire the competencies necessary to design, deliver, support and evaluate effective and competitive e-learning programs. Audience The e-learning diploma is designed for all those who wish to learn about the fundamental issues of e-learning, and how to use this knowledge in their own context, whatever that may be corporate, public, etc. Learners include students, teachers, trainers/facilitators and course developers. TRACK 4 GREEN ICT Green ICT Fundamentals The course aims to provide basic knowledge of Green ICT concepts and best practice principles that will enable participants to optimize the use of ICTs in their organizations through the application of various hands-on tools and techniques. Potential learners include technical administrators, application developers, system administrators, and architects. It is also of value for business analysts and business managers. The course delivery mode is blended learning (e- Learning+ facilitator-based). The course is conducted in English.
