NEC leads the digital TV broadcasting industry around the world NEC is a leading global company which offers world-class know-how and resources in the technology of broadcasting networks. Our newest model of digital TV transmitter The continued evolution and integration of broadcast technology led us to develop a new high-power Transistor Power Amplifier (TRPA) designated UA4000QE which our new high-power digital TV transmitter, the DTU-52 series, utilizes. DTU-52 8.7kW Model DTU-52/8R7PQ The DTU-52 series inherits the technologies and performance of previous model DTU-51, which has been highly evaluated in the field widely, and adds innovative new technology. This realizes even higher reliability in a high-quality digital TV transmitter. Besides the two main features high reliability and low maintenance of our existing digital TV transmitters, we have successfully achieved two additional advantages high efficiency and a small footprint for this new DTU-52 series.
High efficiency By adopting this new TRPA, the DTU-52 series enables a reduction in power consumption by an average of 20 to 30% compared with previous models. Small footprint The DTU-52 series provides up to 8.7kW output power (average) by using 10 sets of TRPA units in a single rack, achieving a footprint of only 590 (W) x 2,000 (H) x 1,000 (D)mm, one of the smallest in the world. The latest in digital broadcasting technology Power Amplifiers (PA) Our newly developed high-power TRPA, the UA4000QE, utilizes the latest high-power LDMOS. The output power of this TRPA is 1kW average. It features an excellent broadband matching circuit in the amplifier modules. Size 479 (W) x 105 (H) x 630 (D)mm Internal power supply Can easily be replaced during operation Monitoring and remote control The compact PA modules each incorporate an RS-485 interface, enabling comprehensive monitoring and remote control. Furthermore, self-protection circuits for high temperature, reflected power, overvoltage, overcurrent and low AC voltage are built-in. UA4000QE Wideband design covers entire UHF band Frequency-agile, so no channel-specific components are necessary.
Exciter The DM-3000A digital exciter is packed with NEC s state-of-the-art technologies. The integration of numerous functions into a single unit greatly reduces size and cost. A synthesizer tuned to all UHFband signals enables all-band direct conversion to an RF output. Higher or lower bit rates are modified to usable bit rates for flexible bit-rate adaptability. Using the MIR created by the SFN adapter, seamless ASI switching can be performed. The truly impressive characteristic of the DM-3000A is its ability to work in conjunction with other NEC transmitters as a signal processor this greatly reduces the necessity for spare units while simplifying maintenance. DM-3000A Adaptive Digital Corrector (ADC) (optional) The ADC board automatically generates correction factors of non-linearity distortion and updates the correction table without interrupting program service. Optimum signal quality and service coverage are maintained, protected from the effects of ambient temperature, aging and other factors. The ADC board is installable from the front of the exciter and can be used to generate the correction factor for preset correction. Furthermore, the ADC board is capable of analyzing feedback signals from the TX output, including intermodulation level, MER value and other graphical data. And automatic adjustment of the IMP/MER values greatly reduces the time required for maintenance. Removable ADC board (optional) N+1 System The Versatile III Series DTU-52 s frequency-agile design allows for the construction of an N+1 system, offering redundancy for maximized reliability and uptime. By using the newly developed N+1 controller, up to 8+1 system is available. At any given site, there is a transmitter ready to be activated should one of the active transmitters malfunction. When activated, the spare transmitter adjusts its frequency band accordingly without interfering with broadcast signals.
Liquid Cooling The liquid cooling system incorporates an automatic air-purge function, and an Adaptive Fault Forecast function. These features work together to cut noise and installation costs, make maintenance easier and boost reliability. Coolant feeding and dust removal have been greatly simplified by a hybrid closed circuit, ensuring the coolant remains clean. For monitoring and control capabilities of a single or multiple transmitters from different locations, NEC offers SNMP and Web server.
