Credential Extensions Induction eligibility requires initial issuance of a credential that authorizes induction as a requirement for a clear credential. A candidate s credential may expire and does not need to be reactivated to continue with induction. It may need reissuance if required for a teaching assignment. A preliminary credential does not need to be active for a clear credential recommendation (unless also adding an EL authorization). CTI can assist with a candidate s extension upon request. CTC Leaflet AL-3 describes credential extension appeal options. 15
