PCSO CONDUCTS NATIONWIDE IMAP RE-ORIENTATION AND HELP DESK SEMINAR BY: JUSTIN SANTOS / DARCY M GERONIMO In the midst of the changing times and increased clientele PCSO serves daily, the Board approved the new Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) on how to avail and process Individual Medical Assistance (IMAP), Endowment Fund and the PCSO Help Desk. The IRR which was prepared by the Charity Sector headed by Dr. Larry Cedro, AGM for Charity aims to simplify the processes and requirements under the program in order to better serve PCSO patients. Assistance under IMAP is granted through Guarantee Letter (GL) addressed to hospitals, diagnostics laboratories/centers, pharmacies, and other health care facilities to cover the cost of hospitalization, medicines, medical supplies, diagnostic procedures, chemotheraphy drugs, dialysis, hearing aid/implant, prosthesis and medical needs of the indigent beneficiary. The strategic three day re-orientation seminar was conducted on July 1-3, 2015 in Cebu for the Visayas Branch Offices, July 15-17 in Baguio for the Northern and Central Luzon Branch Offices, July 22-24 in Davao for the Mindanao Branch Offices, August 1-2 in Tagaytay for the Southern Tagalog and Bicol Region Branch Offices and on August 27, 2015 in Manila for the National Capital Region Offices. The first day of the seminar was attended by PCSO social workers from the different branches. Discussion focused on the details of the newly approved IRR like the health service coverage, procedures, the new set of documentary requirements and methods on how to assess and evaluate the request. Under the new IRR the assestment process/system and forms that will be used in all PCSO branch offices and PCSO Main Office will be uniform. Second day of the seminar was conducted with the participation of representatives from partner hospitals/institutions in preparation for the implementation of the PCSO help desk assistance under its new program ASAP (At Source Ang Processing). PCSO officials emphasized that PCSO would like to partner with hospitals/institutions that are willing to establish a PCSO help desk. The help desk will primarily be established in hospitals/ institutions catering to larger scope of indigent individuals relieving them of the requirements to go to the nearest PCSO Branch Office for submission of requirements and personal interview. The third day was alloted for question and answer, clarifications on the new IRR and other Charity Programs of PCSO and visit to the Branch and partner institution. The re-orientation seminar was conducted by the OIC-Department Manager of the Charity Assistance Department (CAD), Mr. Rubin Magno, with the assistance of Jerusa Corpuz, Maricar Santos, Divina Sta. Ines, Carmencita Magsusi from the Social Service Division (CAD); Dr. Kirsh Trine Ramos and Jocelyn Goronio from the Office of the Assistant General Manager for Charity; and other personnel from concerned departments.
