New Business Using the online product is simple. Once registered you can access the quoting functions at www.cnaexcess.co.uk. The steps below and on the following pages demonstrate just how easy it is to use. 01. Login From the home page click on the Login button at the top of the page. Enter your user name and password as provided to you by CNA Hardy on registration. From this page you can begin a new quote, for a new client, by selecting New Insured, or view a host of admin functions from the Broker Admin area. If you have already submitted details of a client, clicking Existing Insured will enable you to retrieve their details and bind an existing quote or create a new quote. 02. New Insured Enter information about the company you wish to insure. There is also a postcode lookup facility to aid you in completing the address details. 03. Insured Business Types This page requires you to indicate the type of business the company is involved in and the percentage of turnover each area covers. First select your business sector, and then select a business group from the next drop-down which will give various options in the business type drop-down below it. A search facility is also provided should you have any problems finding a business type. If this business type is 100% of the company s turnover then you can click on Submit Business Type and Continue to the next stage. If there are multiples of business types then these can be added individually until a percentage of 100% is reached. If you cannot find a business description using the search facility then you can click on the bottom paragraph on the page to enter a free format business type. You will still need to select the appropriate business sector, business area and business group but you will then be able to type out the free format business type. This will then refer the submission to CNA Underwriters who will contact you with a quote/ask you for additional information as required. 04. Product Selection This page requires you to choose your product selection. You can choose either Excess Employers Liability or Excess Public/Products Liability or Combined Excess Employers Liability & Public/Products Liability. 05. Policy Questions Please answer the policy questions as requested. These are mainly based on the type of work the Insured will carry out and there are links to PDF files for more information on specific areas of the policy and underwriting questions if required. The questions page will vary depending on the products you have selected. 06. Coverage Selection This page asks for details of your excess limit of indemnity and underlying limit of indemnity. The coverage selection page will vary depending on the products you have selected. Click Continue to proceed to the next stage.

New Business Tip #1 Underlying Limit is the total limit of indemnity currently purchased by your client. Excess Limit is the top up cover above this limit that you are looking to purchase for your client. 07. Claims History Please enter details of any claims history that may exist which exceed the claims threshold indicated on the page. If required, you may enter a number of separate claims using the Add Claims Details button before continuing to the next stage. 08. Premium Calculation From the information you have provided the system will now display your premium details with a breakdown of the figures for your information. The premium is set on the standard commission rate for your brokerage, but you also have the option of using the flexible commission dropdown tab so you can change the commission level from anywhere between 0% and 25% (note the net premium will stay the same). Note if you are quoting for a combined Excess Employers Liability and Public/Products policy then you will benefit from the 5% combined excess discount. If you are happy with the quote you can Continue to the bind stage, you can also Print Quote as a PDF, Save Quote to return back to at another time, Requote based on different policy information or choose not to take up the quote if so required. 09. Other Cover Details The final stage before binding is to enter details regarding underlying insurance cover, as a minimum you must enter the company providing primary insurance and the policy number for the products you have selected. This information is required to enable issuing of policy documentation but can also be used for your own records to collate your client s details. Tip #2 At any point in the process you can save a submission or quote and leave the system. When you log back in, select Existing Insured and find the relevant client. Select View to bring up the list of their existing business and then select Amend to open the submission or quote. 10. Accept Quote This page provides an overview of the quote and is the last stage before binding and downloading your policy. You may alter the period of the policy on this page although if you require a policy period greater than 18 months the quote will need to be reviewed by an underwriter. You still have all the options of amending, re-quoting for different products or variations, saving or not taking up the quote and it is at this point that you can Print Proposal, if required, for your client to complete. (Note: CNA Hardy do not require a copy of this.) If you are happy with all the information displayed, click Bind Quote. This takes you to the download page where you can download your policy wording and schedule as a PDF file.

Policy Endorsements Tip #3 If you already have a pending endorsement against the policy then you will need to bind it, or alternatively Delete/NTU/Decline these before you can continue with a new endorsement. 01. Existing Business After logging in, select Existing Business and find the relevant client. Select View to bring up the list of their existing business and then select View against the Policy you wish to Endorse. 02. Existing Policy Select Endorse Policy on this page to begin the endorsement process. 03. Endorse Policy Select the appropriate Endorsement type from the drop-down menu. For Endorsements to change Insured details, Underlying Insurer details or Other cover details you will be requested to specify the Endorsement effective start and end dates; for Period of cover changes the revised inception and expiry dates you will be requested. Upon Continue from this page you will be taken to the relevant page per endorsement type. If Other cover details is selected you will be taken through the entire submission process to amend details where necessary. 04. Accept Endorsement This page provides an overview of the Endorsement and details the effective period and corresponding additional or return premium (where applicable). All the options of amending, saving or not taking up the Endorsement are available to you and it is at this point that you should Print Quote/Proposal if required. If you are happy with all the information displayed, click Bind Quote. This takes you to the download page where you can download your Endorsement schedule which, together with your original policy schedule forms the policy documentation.
