TRANSPORTATION SERVICES AIRPORT SHUTTLES Shamrock Airport Shuttle Reservations (970) 226-6886 There is a ground shuttle service available to and from the Denver International Airport with drop-offs in both Loveland and Fort Collins. Most of the drop-offs are at major hotels or businesses; ShowTime, Egg & I, and Hampton Inn in Loveland, or University Park Holiday Inn and Marriott Hotels in Fort Collins. Pick-up is available from other locations with reservation. You may buy your ticket upon arrival at the airport by the terminal baggage claim area. To return to the airport, you will need to make advance reservations. Fares either way are cash transactions only. Call Shuttle Reservations for departure times, drop-off locations, and current prices. Allow at least 4-5 hours between your departure from Loveland and your airline departure. More time may be needed during traffic rush hours or inclement weather. IMPORTANT NOTE: The shuttle has been known to cancel the later departures in the day without notification. If this should happen, transportation is the responsibility of the attendee. Always arrive at least 15 minutes prior to departure. If the shuttle is full, it may depart a few minutes early. CAR RENTALS A car rental is highly recommended, as there is no shuttle service provided by the Training Center. Even though there is a taxi service in Loveland, there are no guarantees for timely pick-ups. The taxi service covers a very large area for the surrounding communities with very few vehicles. Most hotels are greater than 3-10 miles from the Hach Company. The Denver International Airport has all of the major car rental agencies available. Have your travel agent verify which agencies offer unlimited mileage. MOTEL SHUTTLES Marriott Reservations (970) 267-3080 The Marriott Hotel group in Fort Collins offers a shuttle service to Loveland and Hach Company. 8:00 a.m. arrival is assured with advance scheduling. There is no extra fee for this service for Marriott guests.

GENERAL INFORMATION Attire Even though dress is causal, sandals or open-toed shoes are not allowed. For laboratory safety, please wear appropriate footwear, especially in the summer. Lab coats and safety glasses will be provided. If you prefer to wear your own, please feel free to bring them. Class Times All workshops begin at 9:00 a.m. and end at 4:30 p.m. Please do not arrive prior to 8:30 a.m. You should arrive to the training center by 8:45 a.m. every day. This will give you ample time to speak with the instructors and other attendees and to familiarize yourself with the facility the first day of training. Please refer to the detailed map for parking instructions. The front door of the Hach Company is on the west side of the building. All HTTC visitors must sign the Visitor s Register prior to beginning the daily training. The Visitor s Register will be used to account for all visitors in the event of an emergency in the building. Please enter the facility through the lobby. All visitors to the Hach Loveland facility must sign the Visitor s Register, located in the lobby entrance and obtain the appropriate name badge or visitor pass. Each visitor must wear the badge issued in a visible location at all times while at the facility. HTTC attendees, please limit your movements within the facility to the HTTC Training Facility, Lobby, Restrooms, and Cafeteria unless accompanied by an HTTC Instructor while on an invited tour. Visitors must abide by all rules and regulations set forth in the Visitor Guide brochure (available in the lobby). Parking We ask that you park your vehicle in the Employee Parking Lot located south of the Visitor s Parking Lot (circular lot surrounding the flagpole.) You may use the sidewalk to gain entrance through the main lobby. Snow Policy During the winter months, the Hach Technical Training Center may close based on closure of the main plant, due to inclement weather. If you have arrived in Colorado for a workshop and blizzard conditions develop, please call our tollfree number, (800) 227-4224, for plant closure information. A message will be recorded providing all customers with specific details of the closure. It may either instruct you to call back at a given time for a late opening or specify that the closure will be for the entire day. Cancellation / Substitution Policy All registration fees must be paid in advance. Registration fees will be fully refunded when Hach Company receives a cancellation notice at least 10 days in advance of the scheduled workshop. In fairness to all attendees, confirmed participants who do not attend their scheduled workshop or do not give their cancellation notice in this time frame will forfeit the entire registration fee. If a participant is unable to attend, a substitution can be made at any time without charge.

WHAT TO BRING... AND WHAT TO LEAVE AT HOME The training you receive at the Training Center is designed to be comprehensive with wide application to a variety of conditions. Although it is tempting to bring samples or you own to use during the training test procedures, there are several reasons why this activity is prohibited. Transportation of Chemical Materials The U.S. Department of Transportation may regulate samples and chemicals used to test those samples as hazardous material. The penalty for inappropriate transportation of regulated materials begins with a $25,000.00 per day fine for each violation. Inappropriate transportation techniques may include improper identification, packaging, marking, labeling, and documentation. The requirements vary depending upon the type of transportation used (i.e., the manner in which one must package a material for surface transportation is not identical with the way in which that same material must be packaged for transportation by air). OSHA Regulations Individuals within our organization have a right to know the types of materials to which they are exposed. This is why Material Safety Data sheets are required for chemical preparations. When samples or unidentified materials are introduced into the workplace, they present many problems. EPA Regulations Materials, which are brought into Hach Company as samples and used within the course of training, may actually become hazardous waste when the training program ends. Thus, the disposal of these becomes a problem for Hach Company, as well as those attending the training classes. Alternate Methods of Sample Testing If you have a need for a particular sample to be tested, or if you have questions about chemical analyses for other materials, please contact Hach Company s Application Laboratory for information about our analytical services. Hach Company s training program includes recognizing the restrictions in use and transportation of the materials, which are used in the testing process. This valuable component of your training enhances your regulatory awareness and can save you and your company time and money.
