Whilethefloodwasrising,ourhelperhadpresenceofmindtoswitchoffthe main power, and move many things up to the 2nd floor.where they also, endedupstayingfor2days!!oursofa,diningset,refridgerator,tvcabinet andcomputercabinetwereallsubmerged.itriedtogethome3timesbutwe wereallbarredbypolice.theroadsleadingtoourplacewerefloodedupto6 feetand98%ofallthevehiclesinthevillageweresubmerged. Wewerecomfortableatthehospital,butit wasagonizingtothinkaboutmatthewand thehelper.whatifthewaterkeepsrising? y Good day to everyone! I am Rolando Chavez, 39 years old. My father died when I was very small and my mother was left with a big family to bring up. There was not going to be much chance for us in life. It was through the concern of my older brother Ernesto, that myself, 2 brothers and a sister came to Hebron Children s Home. (called Grace Children s Home then.) For me, it was 10 very fruitful years. I entered when I was 13 in 1983 and left after finishing a degree in 1993. In that early time, CBM, then PCBC, was managed by a loving missionary couple Mr and Mrs McRae, whom we affectionately called Daddy Charles and Mommy Beryl. I have fond memories of simple joys of giving and sharing and really looking forward to the yearly Christmas Party. Along with spiritual values I learned to be independent and self-confident. I was blessed by a wonderful sponsor, CHRISTIAN GOSPEL CENTER in Quezon City Manila. I am very grateful to the Lord for them, as they supported me all the way through, so that I could finish my schooling from High School to College. They provided all the things I needed such as school supplies, CenterforDisabledreporting. clothing and monthly allowance. I attended a public high school in Quezon LastDecember,Leslie,along City. Later, I went to a reputable university in Bulacan, Baliuag University. I am now Associate Professor at the College of Octoberthisyearforsometrainingandtomeetfriendsandsupporters.She Education and am pursuing my doctoral degree. I am happily married to Lorena, a teacher in the high school and we have 2 loving little boys Moises joinedasasponsoredchildin1997andwentthroughelementary,highschool and Dave.
