WiFi Guide for SETYOURTHERMOSTAT.com The setyourthermostat.com program is a very useful 3rd party utility that makes connecting your thermostat to a wireless net easy and simple. It is also capable of updating your WiFi thermostat firmware by a fast and efficient method. It is available at http://setyourthermostat. com. The free version of the program allows you to remotely view and monitor the status of your thermostat [it does not allow you to remotely change any setting]. The Pay version of the software has remote control capability. STEP 1 Fully install and power-up your thermostat with the WiFi module installed. You should test the HVAC functions and have confidence in their operation before your connect to your WiFi network. The thermostat will display a blinking yellow indicator. STEP 2 Download the setyourthermostat.com program and install it on your Windows XP or Windows 7 computer with WiFi capability. It is available at http://setyourthermostat. com. STEP 3 The thermostat broadcasts a WiFi Hotspot signal when its Yellow indicator is flashing. Connect your computer to the thermostat as though the thermostat was a WiFi Hotspot. This is also called an Ad Hoc network [because it is just used for the purpose of setting the connection]. Go to the wireless network connections tab in the tray and scan for wireless networks. Your thermostat [with the WiFi module plugged in] will display a yellow indicator light. This means that the thermostat is broadcasting its own WiFi Hotspot signal. In the Wireless Network Connections window select the thermostat s Hot Spot [usually called something like thermostat-45-a1-e0 ] and click CONNECT. This connects the thermostat to your computer.
STEP 4 Run the setyourthermostat utility program. In Windows go to Start->Program->Thermostat for Windows and click. a] If your thermostat is running an older version of the radio fi rmware you will be prompted update your fi rmware click OK and the update will proceed. This takes a few minutes. b] You will be prompted to select a network to connect your thermostat to. Select your local network and click OK. c] You will be prompted to input the network key for your network. Input it and click OK
d] You will be prompted for the 5 digit code displayed in the upper left of the thermostat screen [clock area]. Input the code and click OK. NOTE: If there is no 5 digit number press RESET on the thermostat to re-display it. e] You will be prompted to re-connect your computer to your local network [called Tigertail in this example]. Do this by going to Wireless Network Connections and selecting your network and click Connect.
5] The setyourthermostat utility program has updated your Radio Firmware and connected [we say provisioned your radio] it to your network. The thermostat will display a green indicator. You should close the setyourthermostat program. If you thermostat displays a RED indicator light, this means there was an error in the process has occurred. You will need to press RESET on the thermostat and get the YELLOW indicator back, then start over with the connection process. If at any time in the process of going through these steps the setyourthermostat utility program stops running, you can just start over again. 6] Once the provisioning process is complete the setyourthermostat program will display a message reading searching for thermostat(s). After several minutes the thermostat control window will come up, as well as the registering window. It is important to register your thermostat with your Radio Thermostat account. All you have to link to your account is enter your radiothermostat.com account information and click link to existing account If you do not have a Radio Thermostat account, click create new account and follow the instructions for creating a new Radio Thermostat account. 7] You can now monitor your thermostat settings remotely using the setyourthermostat program. Please Note: This is the Lite version of the program. It allows you to conveniently monitor your thermostat.
