FAST Service Maximize oil and equipment life with Chevron s comprehensive equipment condition monitoring program

In recent years the global marine industry has seen tremendous changes triggered by: demand for more engine power increased environmental awareness and legislation global upward pressures on fuel and lubricant prices changes in residual fuel oil quality These changes have driven downward pressure on your operating profits. While lubricant costs may only be a small percent of your total vessel maintenance budget, lubrication is the lifeblood of your equipment. Chevron can help minimize your vessel s operating costs with the FAST equipment condition monitoring program. 2 FAST Service

FAST Service Predictive measures and analysis play a vital role in the maintenance of equipment on board your vessels, and Chevron s FAST service can help you identify contamination or wear before it results in costly downtime. What is FAST? FAST is a comprehensive fluid analysis service performed in our ISO 9001 certified lab. FAST helps protect your vessels with an Internet-linked, readily accessible database of fluid analysis reports and expert commentary. FAST Service 3

FAST features and benefits The advantages of using FAST for managing and monitoring the condition of all lubricated equipment on board are numerous: Accurate results on diverse test packages and flexibility for specialized testing procedures Reliable interpretations of test results and actionable recommendations based on the data Results delivered to you immediately upon completion via e-mail or fax (within 24 to 48 hours of receipt) Reports which have been optimized for readability Expert advice on reports via helpdesk: CMLfast@chevron.com Cost-effective standard and specialty tests Online access to complete historical records (downloadable through Excel 5.0 or higher) The value of Reliability-based Lubrication (RbL ) Chevron s blend of industry expertise, leading-edge products and customizable lubrication solutions has created a new business model that helps minimize operational costs while maximizing equipment uptime. What you can expect from implementing this program FAST enables you to track the performance of equipment that your business depends on to get your cargo to points around the world on time and without incident. By analyzing fluid samples on a regular basis, you can optimize equipment life and oil replacement intervals, identify lubricant-related needs and understand the changing environment within a piece of equipment. This knowledge helps in the precise scheduling of maintenance work that can help reduce downtime and minimize the risk of equipment failure. Complete fluid analysis for improved marine reliability The FAST program provides comprehensive analyses for all areas of your vessel. Our stern tube advanced testing complies with the requirements of the major shipping classification societies. A FAST report with satisfactory results on the analysis of the stern tube lubricant is a valuable tool when considering the extension of the period between dry-dockings for classification surveys. Schedule Preventive Maintenance More Efficiently Minimize Maintenance Costs Optimize Equipment Life Increase Reliability Minimize Maintenance Costs Create a Cycle of Success Minimize Oil Disposal Minimize Equipment Downtime Maximize Oil Replacement Intervals ISO 9001 certified laboratory Chevron s laboratory is one of the best equipped laboratories in the marine industry; in fact, we are the only global lubricants supplier to have all marine fluid analysis, marine technical support, and marine R&D in one location. Our collective marine team is on call to accurately diagnose the condition of your equipment FAST! FAST Service 5

The FAST process Submitting oil or other lubricants for FAST analysis is as easy as 1 2 3. Simply send the sample with complete label and analysis request information to the lab in the FAST mailing envelope. Most sample tests will be completed within 24 48 hours of receipt, and you can receive results via fax or email. Each sample report contains all major oil parameters with an easy-to-see warning icon (Normal, Attention or Urgent). Standard test packages FAST simplifies the process of testing with a list of standard tests for frequent, typical applications.
