red lotus feng shui ezine 3 The Cash Register At Your Front Door By Kathryn Weber The entrance to any home or business is the most important area of the whole building. That is because this area is where energy, or chi, enters the building. It s an important concept because this is how all energy enters a building. And, yes, that means financial energy too. Money is merely energy. We paint a picture of money as if it s a God. But it s not. It s energy. When you pay little attention to how energy gets into your house, you do so at your financial peril. That s what makes entrances so important.
red lotus feng shui ezine 4 Does Your Home Say Money Welcome Here Too little importance is put on entrances and when you don t pay attention to your front door because You don t use it Everyone comes through the back door It s inconvenient The door sticks, creaks, drags on the carpet You have a mirror you see as soon as you enter the house You can see through to the backyard when you open your door You don t have a sidewalk to your front door The front door is blocked by a big piece of furniture The front door has junk piled by it inside The plants at your front door are dead or dying The paint on the front door is peeling, faded, or mildewed If that sounds like your front door..
red lotus feng shui ezine 5 You are missing money, plain and simple. Think of it is this way: Your front door is the point at which MONEY and OPPORTUNITY can enter your home. How does money enter a business such as Wal-Mart or your local florist? Through the cash register. How do customers get into a store? The front door. See the math? It s that simple. Energize your front door and you are energizing the cash register of your life! What do you need to know about your entrance? I ve outlined some of the critical features as well as some of the finer feng shui points about entrances. Make sure you address the critical features first and then address the fine points to really energize your entrance. $$Now get your door energized and listen for the Ka-Ching!$$
red lotus feng shui ezine 6 Tip #1 Beauty equals money. Make your entrance BEAUTIFUL. Ugly doors and entrances equal ugly finances. Beautify for a pretty financial picture. Tip #2 Use some feng shui magic. Add a black door mat at the front door for a quick infusion of cash. Don t want to beautify your front door in Tip #1 above? Forget about this one working. Beautify and THEN employ some magic! Tip #3 Just add water. Like our favorite brand of soup, doors can use water to bring them to life, too. Add water by the front door in the form of a fountain, pond, or even a picture of water! Tip #4 Remove all blocks. Work to make sure there are no blockages. These can be hedges or telephone poles. Even a neighbor s front door that is exactly opposite yours would be considered confrontational. Plant a hedge or other screen to deflect the negative energy. Tip #5 Get in the flow. If your house faces a cardinal direction, N, E, S, or W, the water should flow from left to right as you look out from the house. If it s in a subdirection, NE, SW, NW, or SE, the water should flow from right to left. If the water flows incorrectly, you can remedy this by planting a low hedge or making a wall to block the view of water from the front of your home.
red lotus feng shui ezine 7 Tip #6 Lighten up. Put pretty landscape lighting around your house. Lighting activates chi and draws energy (and opportunity and money) to your house. Tip #7 Deferred maintenance is deferred money. Get it fixed. If your door squeaks and the paint is peeling, the message it sends is: Money: Stay AWAY. Get your house in order by keeping your entrance in tip top shape. Tip #8 Energize your front door. Does your front door need a spark of life? Add a new door handle set, a fresh coat of paint, and a new door mat to bring new opportunity and a surge of $$$ to your door. Tip #9 Landscaping matters. A pretty landscape adds VITAL money-producing energy to your home. Give your landscape a good once-over. Tip #10 Walk this way. If your house has no walkway, you are STARVED for cash. Energy has to come to your front door in order for your house to be flush with cash. Make sure there is a sidewalk if you don t have one. Tip #11 Activate your door with a light. Put your front porch light on and keep it on to bring fresh new financial energy to your home. Tip #12 Add a footstool. A quick tip is to place a small boulder or mound of earth about 10-20 feet in front of the door. This signifies a footstool which means: business success and making money with ease.

If you have a front door that has a straight walkway to the door, you can slow down energy (which means money is RUSHING past your house) by adding plants and landscaping along the sides of the walkway. Tip #14 Trim overgrowth. Bushes and trees that are planted too close to the entrance and block the way to the door also block WEALTH from coming into the house and actually ABSORB the energy. Tip #15 Get in the BLACK. Black is the color of money. When accountants say you re in the black they mean you are flush with funds. Black is the color that puts you accounts in the black too. Not sure what color to paint your front door? Put the cash right at the front step and paint it a rich glo$$y BLACK! Watch for opportunity for money or a check to hit almost immediately. Tip #16 Use the door, hear the cash drawer bell. That s right: listen for the ka-ching! every time you use your front door. Make it a point to enter and exit your home through the front door as much as possible. Tip #17 Stop money flying out of your hands. If you can open your door and see through to the back yard, money is headed right out the window. Stop the flow by stopping the view. Add blinds, curtains, a decorative screen anything! to stop the money from flying out of the house.
red lotus feng shui ezine 9 Tip #18 Don t push money OUT the door. If you have a mirror that you see as soon as you enter the house, you are pushing opportunities and money out with it. Mirrors push energy out and that means money is headed out the door before it can step one foot inside. Tip #19 Walk on money. Use this tip to show money where to go: if you have new carpeting going down, place a line of Chinese coins (http://redlotusletter.com/shop/boutique/coins) inside the door and have them lead into the heart of your home. If you are having new carpeting put down, glue the coins to your floor before the carpet goes down. You can also form the coins in the shape of an arrow! Tip #20 Bright ideas. Entrances that have an open area in front of them are said to enjoy a bright hall effect. There should be open space directly out a front or main door: think of the White House in Washington, DC with the big open front lawn and fountain. Tip #21 Make your door look important. Flanking the front door with two objects, such as two beautiful plants, two fu dogs, two statues of some kind or other feature, such as lights, is excellent feng shui. It shows the prominence of the door and makes it more inviting by having objects on either side of the door. Want extra good chi? Flank the door with two urns or large vases! Tip #22 Color your door correctly. Painting your front door with the correct color for its facing direction is one of the fastest, best ways to instantly change the feng shui of your home. Determine the facing direction of your doorway. Then, paint it the color that is enhancing for this
red lotus feng shui ezine 10 direction. Painted the wrong color, the doorway will bring problems rather than benefits. If your door faces North: Paint blue, black, gray, or white. Black is best. Avoid red, green or brown. If your door faces Northwest/West: Paint metal colors, such as white, grey, silver, or gold. White is best. Strenuously avoid red and avoid blue, black or purple.. If your door faces Southwest/Northeast: Paint yellow or stonecolors of taupe or beige. Yellow is best. Avoid green and woodgrained finishes. If your door faces East/Southeast: Choose green, brown, black or purple. Green is best. Avoid white and yellow. If your door faces South: Paint the door red, terracotta, or orange; red is best. Or, if it s a wood door, leave it as wood. Avoid white, black, and blue. Tip #23 Never walk on your good name. Many people buy doormats with their family name on them. This is very bad feng shui. It s not even a good idea to have a doormat with the word welcome on it. That s because someone will walk on your good name or your warm welcome. Plain doormats are best. Tip #24 Bells mean business and bells bring money. Does your doorbell sound like a dud? Ditch it and buy a beautiful doorbell with a rich golden tone. Many Chinese businesses ring bells to draw customers because bells bring money. Think about it: don t many businesses use bells for customers to announce that they re there? Tip #25 Does your door face a different direction than the street? If so you have a challenge with money. Make sure you put your best foot forward at the front of your house with lighting, landscaping, and beautification. Every effort you put into the entrance will return to you in the form of cash.
red lotus feng shui ezine 11 Tip #25 Don t let money rush OUT of the house. If you have stairs that face the front door, it s very likely that money rushes right OUT of the house. Stop it by adding a round rug between the stairs and the front door. A black rug is best. Tip #26 Invite wealth into the house. Add beautiful enhancements to your foyer to invite wealth into your house. Using a foyer light frequently will invite money energy into the house. Make sure the carpet is nice and not ripped and torn. The entrance should be warm and inviting and include nice artwork. Tip #27 Avoid glass front doors. These constitute money running through or out of the house. Plus, they aren t representative of a good protective entry. Glass storm doors are not the same, so don t confuse the two. If you are thinking about replacing your door, that is great feng shui! Tip #28 Roll gold into the front door. At the first of the New Year, have a small party for friends and family. Hand out bags of oranges. Initiate the New Year by rolling oranges into the front door to represent gold rolling into the house all year long. It s a fun symbolic activity for kids who love to scramble after the rolling fruit!
