Centrifugal Compressors Pipeline Direct Inlet (PDI) Compressors PDI compressors are an efficient, simple, yet rugged and reliable solution for singlestage applications, whether electric motoror gas turbine-driven. The axial inlet casing design houses a single-stage, direct-inlet, overhung impeller and is commonly fitted with our advanced D-R duct resonator array noise attenuation technology and dry gas seals. The PDI demonstrates flange-to-flange efficiencies that exceed 90% in some drive applications and is designed to accommodate many drive configurations in a standard package. Capital expenditures for turnarounds and revamps are minimized because there are fewer parts. The PDI family of standard case sizes covers a wide range of flows and powers. DATUM Compressors DATUM compressors incorporate enhanced engineering features that provide significant operating and maintenance benefits. Their advanced design allows a single DATUM compressor (with one to 10 stages) to compress greater flows for a given frame size than comparable units, doing the work of multiple casings in some applications. In addition, the DATUM compressor can be fitted with our innovative dry gas seal, D-R duct resonator array and magnetic bearing technologies. The DATUM P compressor line is specifically designed for pipeline applications. The DATUM C centrifugal compressor is an integrated, electric motor driven compressor designed for natural gas pipeline and process gas applications. Reciprocating Compressors Our low-, medium- and high-speed reciprocating compressors can handle the most demanding jobs high-pressure, high-specification and tougher applications. Specifically engineered for long periods of continuous operation over a wide range of operating conditions, the Dresser-Rand pipeline cylinder is complemented with the field-proven MOS, HOS, HOSS, BOS, or HHE-VL compressor frames, durable, efficient compressor valves, and capacity control options to meet most any flow or pressure requirement. MOS Compressors The MOS compressor establishes itself by taking the best of previous Dresser-Rand designs, competing units and voice of client input. The lower-cost, compact design and rapid delivery of packaged MOS compressors make it an ideal choice for common gas field applications such as gas gathering and gas processing. HOS Compressors HOS compressors are engineered for higher-power gas transmission and storage applications. Special pipeline, storage and high-pressure cylinders are available to accommodate any range of conditions. HOS compressors are drivermatched to the most suitable electric motor and gas engine prime movers available worldwide. HOSS Compressors The HOSS (Super HOS) compressor is designed for big jobs with heavily ribbed frame walls/bearing saddles, integrally cast crosshead extensions for heavy rod load carrying capability and surfacehardened crosshead pins fixed for added strength and rigidity. These rugged compressors are engineered for highhorsepower gas field applications, including gas lift, gas gathering, pipeline boosting, gas transmission, underground gas storage (injection and withdrawal), fuel gas boosting landfill gas recovery, and many other applications. The HOSS compressor provides clients with reliability, less maintenance and greater fuel efficiency. BOS and HHE-VL Compressors Dresser-Rand s heavy-duty BOS and HHE-VL compressors take advantage of our 75 years of gas transmission and refinery compressor experience to bring exceptional reliability, durability and flexibility to the highest power applications. These direct-drive units can operate over a wide range of pressure and flow conditions without sacrificing efficiency, thanks to a selection of innovative systems for controlling cylinder capacity. Gas Turbines For high-horsepower applications, Dresser-Rand offers a family of VECTRA power turbines matched to the GE LM2500 series engines, with ISO ratings from 23 to 34 MW and efficiencies exceeding 40%.* With its 6,200 rpm shaft speed, the VECTRA gas turbine is the ideal driver for pipeline compressors in this power range. Electric Motors Dresser-Rand is also a leading supplier of electric motor driven compressor packages. We have many variablespeed drives in operation, including experience in highpower-density pipeline applications using high-speed motors with variable-frequency drives (VFD) and conventional synchronous-speed motors with variablespeed hydraulic couplings. D-R Duct Resonator Array Technology D-R duct resonator arrays have been used to suppress inlet and discharge piping noise in many pipeline centrifugal compressors and multi-stage process gas compressors. When applied to a compressor, this technology can significantly reduce field noise levels in the range of 10 to 20 decibels, depending on the application. The patented D-R duct resonator array technology can be applied to new or existing compressors, including compressors built by other manufacturers. Infinite Step Control (ISC) The ISC system is a computer-controlled, hydraulically activated, finger-type unloading system that can expand the operating range of fixed-speed compressors up to 20% to 100% load and significantly reduce operating costs at reduced loads/flows. Compressor efficiency is optimized by effectively controlling capacity over a wide range of operating conditions. When compared to other computer-controlled, delayed-suction-valve-closing systems, the ISC system provides full control over compressor capacity and less complexity at lower cost. Gas-Controlled Stepless Pockets (GSP) This approach patented by Gas & Air Specialty Products, Inc. and licensed to Dresser-Rand allows reciprocating compressor cylinder capacity to be automatically controlled over a range of operating conditions (50% 100%) with simple and reliable volume pocket unloading technology.
