A guide to your new ticket machines
What s new We re installing new state-of-the-art ticket vending machines across the Metrolink network between November 2009 and spring 2010. Your new and improved ticket machines benefit from easy-to-use touch screens. They offer a choice of English, French, German, Spanish or Polish and a number of ways to pay. You can renew all season tickets with your current Travel Club ID card. You can even buy multiple tickets in a single transaction up to a maximum of ten (excludes season tickets). To help you buy your ticket quickly we are also introducing a number of queue buster ticket machines. Queue busters will issue only single and return tickets and accept only coins and debit/credit cards. Look out for the machines marked single and return tickets only.
Step 1 select your destination Using the touch screen you can either select your destination from the top six destinations on the right hand side of the screen or type in the first letter of your destination using the key pad. Destinations beginning with that letter will then appear on the right hand side of the screen. Simply touch the button to select your destination. tickets * tickets are available for peak and off-peak travel on a day or weekend basis. There are specific saver tickets available for adults, families or for four adults travelling together. You can buy up to ten saver tickets in one transaction. You can choose a combined day saver ticket that allows you to travel anywhere in Greater Manchester using the tram, bus and train. * is the new name for MetroMax tickets. tickets You can renew a weekly, four-weekly, quarterly or annual season ticket using the new ticket machines. To renew your season ticket you will need to have a Travel Club ID card. You can apply for a Travel Club ID card at Travelshops or by post to GMPTE Customer Services, 2 Piccadilly Place, Manchester, M1 3BG. You will need a passport-sized photograph.
