SYRACUSE UNIVERSITY and SAN DIEGO MESA COLLEGE Introduction This articulation agreement is developed as a tool for advisement to assist in the transferability of comparable coursework from San Diego to parallel programs o f study at Syracuse University. Objectives Syracuse University enters into this agreement with the following objectives: 1. To attract qualified community college students into Syracuse University. 2. To facilitate an efficient and smooth transition into Syracuse University from San Diego programs.. To provide a path of coursework at San Diego that is applicable to programs of study at Syracuse University. 4. To encourage academic coordination, faculty and administrative interactions, and student engagement. Terms of Agreement The establishment of this agreement, the two academic institutions agree to the following terms: 1. San Diego agrees to designate faculty and academic/transfer advisors to facilitate the advisement for students interested in transferring to Syracuse University. 2. Students of San Diego who have obtained a GPA of,0 or better in the engineering science program are found academically qualified for L.C. Smith College of Engineering & Computer Science (LCS). The final admission decision is made by the office of admission of Syracuse University.. Syracuse University agrees to accept the attached list of coursework into the Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science programs; provided achievement be no less than a grade of C or better. The maximum number o f transferable credit is 66 credit hours. 4. Syracuse University agrees to accept qualified candidates who meet the admissions standards of the desired program of study at the time of admission. Admission to SU is contingent upon a continued record of good citizenship and character. Admissibility into the program of study to be determined by the Undergraduate Admissions Office. 5. The agreement will be subject to annual review by both San Diego and Syracuse University, or in the event there are changes to the curriculum at either institution. 6. San Diego and Syracuse University will recognize and promote the agreement with prospective transfer students.

Syracuse University and San Diego 7. Students who take advantage of this articulation agreement are encouraged to consider the graduate education opportunities at LCS. In order to continue to a master s program, students should achieve and maintain a.0 cumulative GPA, as well as a.0 GPA in science, math, engineering and computing courses. These students will be considered pre-admitted to any master's program in LCS; however, in order to be formally admitted, students must complete the online application during their senior year. The GRE requirement will be waived, and upon admission a 50% tuition scholarship will be granted to these students. 8. This articulation agreement is intended for students transferring from San Diego Mesa College to Syracuse University. Students who plan to attend San Diego and have earned credit at other colleges and/or universities, are subject to the acceptance and use of credit policies of the San Diego Community College District. 9. Faculty and administrators at San Diego and Syracuse University will continue to develop collaborative ways to engage prospective transfer students.
