There are 2 tabs with fields to complete. These are Details and Admin: Fields with a star denote a mandatory field. The Details Tab Spotlight title: Give the spotlight a title. This field will not appear in the app, and is only used to be identified in the list of spotlights in Unity. Spotlight text: This is the text that will appear in the app. Because the app has limited screen real estate you will need to keep the number of characters to a minimum, Approximately 60 characters. Image file: Here you can upload a custom background image for your spotlight. The app is designed to work across a number of devices with different screen resolutions. It is important to create this image at the right size and shape to look good. See Best Practices on page 10. Alternatively, if you choose not to upload your own image, the app will display one of the generic images based on the category you select later. LGASA www.lga.sa.gov.au/goto/unityguides Page 3
Link URL: can be tapped within the app and deliver the user to a webpage for more information. Type the address of your desired webpage making sure to include http:// ie: http://www.google.com Push Notifications: You can use push notification to send your users an alert with a message or call to action. When the user taps the notification the My Local Services app will be launched where they will see the spotlight. Send notification: select yes or no. Deliver Schedule: You can have a notification sent as soon as you deploy your spot light, or schedule it for a specific date and time. Submitting and Saving the Spotlight When you have finished inputting all the relevant and required information for your spotlight, there are two options for saving. Use Save/Submit when you have finished editing the details and are ready to submit it to live. If you do not want the new spotlight to have a live status (i.e. you haven t finished editing the information on the object), select the Save button. This saves the new spotlight details but does not put it in a live status. Once you select Save, the spotlight will be displayed in the list of spotlight objects highlighted. You can go back in to edit the details by clicking on the Edit button. When you have finished editing your new Spotlight you can submit it from the list. Click on Options and select Submit: LGASA www.lga.sa.gov.au/goto/unityguides Page 7

Best Practice for Images The My Local Services app is designed to work across a number of devices with different screen resolutions. To make sure your Spotlight images look good on all devices follow the below guide. Your Spotlight Image should be 640 pixels wide by 816 pixels tall. When viewed on a mobile device part of this image will be covered by the spotlight text and the top and bottom part of this image may be cropped depending on the resolution of the user s device. See the below template and sample image: The template image above accounts for the highest device crop factor. To keep your spotlights looking good on all devices the main content of your image should sit within the Main Image Area (dark orange section) of the template. See the below example of how the cropping will work on an iphone4 vs the iphone5 with the longer screen resolution. To download a copy of the template In.jpg and Photoshop formats Click Here LGASA www.lga.sa.gov.au/goto/unityguides Page 10
