The figures below represent Merck Serono s payments as required by the ABPI Code of Practice for the period 1, January 2014 to 31, December 2014. The payments made by Merck Serono broadly fall into the following two categories: I. Fees paid for services provided by healthcare professional to Merck Serono. These can include fees for speaking or chairing at meetings that relate to the company s specialities in disease therapy areas. Services may also include contribution to advisory panels in order to learn further about any unmet needs or improvement to sciences or use of therapies. II. The second type relate to sponsorship of healthcare professionals to attend third party educational and scientific meetings.
