Merck Serono UK Disclosure for 2014 Merck Serono are committed to ensuring transparency of its relationship with healthcare professional and in its collaborations with other organisations. We specifically acknowledge the critical work performed by healthcare professionals, their institutions and patient organisations. About the Disclosure Report Merck Serono adopts clear standards on its interactions with healthcare professionals. In addition to healthcare professionals, Merck Serono UK also provide support to patient organisations. The figures below represent Merck Serono s payments as required by the ABPI Code of Practice for the period 1, January 2014 to 31, December 2014. The payments made by Merck Serono broadly fall into the following two categories: I. Fees paid for services provided by healthcare professional to Merck Serono. These can include fees for speaking or chairing at meetings that relate to the company s specialities in disease therapy areas. Services may also include contribution to advisory panels in order to learn further about any unmet needs or improvement to sciences or use of therapies. II. The second type relate to sponsorship of healthcare professionals to attend third party educational and scientific meetings. These sponsorships are limited to the payment of registration fees, reasonable travel, meals and accommodation. 1.
