Wave Adapter for DealerSocket Overview Welcome to the Wave Adapter for DealerSocket Automotive CRM Guide. This guide describes how to install a Wave Adapter for DealerSocket and perform an initial system configuration. The Wave Adapter for DealerSocket is a Vertical application that enables you to use Wave call management methodology to send key call information to your DealerSocket system for data integration. The data elements that Wave gathers and sends to DealerSocket adhere to the DealerSocket definitions of data elements and send the data in the ADF standard format. Also, using the Wave Adapter for DealerSocket you can track outbound calls by: Extension number Agent ID/Account Code Both extension number and Agent ID/Account Code DealerSocket works with Wave ISM 3.0 and higher. The Wave Adapter for DealerSocket supports the DealerSocket web service interface only. Other DealerSocket-defined interfaces are not currently supported. Wave Adapter for DealerSocket 1
Wave Adapter for DealerSocket Installation Prerequisites Installation of the Wave Adapter for DealerSocket is accomplished in a few short steps. This section describes the prerequisites, installation and license activation for a Wave Adapter for DealerSocket. DealerSocket works with Wave ISM 3.0 and higher. The MS Enterprise Library is provided by Vertical by applying the CAB file WADS 1.0.0.4000 (1044).CAB The CAB file name format is: WADS_1_0_0_4000_latest version build number.cab Select the CAB file. NOTE: For further information, please see Uploading a CAB file in Chapter 23, Continuing System Administration, of the Wave Global Administrator Guide. Installation and License Activation Installation To build your Wave Adapter for DealerSocket perform an upgrade on your Wave. NOTE: For software upgrade information and instructions, please see Upgrading or Downgrading the Wave Server in Chapter 23, Continuing System Administration, of the Wave Global Administrator Guide. License Activation When the Wave Adapter for DealerSocket installation is completed, activate your software applet license. NOTE: For license activation information please see Activating Wave Licenses in Chapter 24, Entering and Activating Wave Licenses, of the Wave Global Administrator Guide. 2 Wave Adapter for DealerSocket
Wave Adapter for DealerSocket Configuration Configuration of the Wave Adapter for DealerSocket is accomplished in a few short steps. This section describes how to configure a Wave Adapter for DealerSocket. Configuration To configure your Wave Adapter for DealerSocket: 1. Open Wave Global Administrator Management Console. 2. Select the Applications tab. This displays the Vertical Wave Adapters options as shown below. Figure 1-1: Wave Adapter for DealerSocket Icon 3. Click on Wave Adapter for DealerSocket to open the DealerSocket Settings page depicted in Figure 1-2. Wave Adapter for DealerSocket 3
DealerSocket Settings The Wave Adapter for DealerSocket sends your call data to DealerSocket based on your configuration settings. In DealerSocket Settings, you can indicate the type of information that you want to record and push to DealerSocket. The configurable DealerSocket Settings are: Dealer Name: Define the name of the dealership. Toll Free Number: State the dealership s toll free number. Post Start Date: Enter the start date of the port. ID: Add the Dealer s unique DealerSocket dealer number. Phone Number: Enter the dealership s main number. Track Outbound Calls by: Defines how the outbound calls are tracked. To track outbound calls and define the values for your call log query go to Track Outbound Calls By: and select one of the following from the pull down menu: Extension number Agent ID/Account Code Both extension number and Agent ID/Account Code The default setting is Extension number. You can also define the interval of time that the Wave call management information is passed to DealerSocket In Figure 1-3 shown below, the default value for call log query has been changed to Both and the time interval in seconds is 60, which is the minimum value. With this time interval, Wave call management information will be pushed to DealerSocket at 60-second intervals. Advanced Settings The Advanced Settings for the Wave Adapter for DealerSocket define required functionality. Changes to the established defaults are not recommended. The Advance Settings are: URL Setting: Specifies that data is sent to this DealerSocket provided URL. Query Setting: Acts as a filter and selects the type of call information being sent. This parameter is set to its default so that the Wave Adapter for Dealer Socket functions properly. Unique ID: This is a DealerSocket defined value and is always set to 1. Interval: Defines how frequently data is checked and new data is posted. This value is set by Vertical. Required Data Fields Sent to Dealer Socket DealerSocket specifies required data fields that the Wave Adapter for DealerSocket sends to DealerSocket. The required data fields include data that are included in Advanced Settings as well as data that are not displayed in Advanced Settings. Additional data fields that not displayed in either DealerSocket Settings or Advanced Settings are: Call Duration: The duration of the call. CallID: Unique caller identification value. Call StartTime: Indicates the start time for the call. Customer First Name: Identifies Vertical Communications to DealerSocket. Customer Last Name: Identifies the caller to DealerSocket. Customer Phone Number: Identifies the caller s telephone number. Department: Department Name, i.e., Sales. Direction Inbound or Outbound: Declares the call direction. Vendor Name: Set to Vertical.com Vertical Contact: Provides email address and telephone number for Wave Adapter for DealerSocket vendor. Warning: A change to the Advanced Settings should not be made without prior consultation with Vertical.
