INSOL Europe INSOL Europe (formerly the European Insolvency Practitioners Association) is the European organisation of professionals who specialise in insolvency, bankruptcy and business reconstruction and recovery. It is an Association founded in 1981 and registered in France. The Goals and Strategies of INSOL Europe are to lead the study and evaluation of insolvency, bankruptcy and business recovery law and practice in Europe to disseminate technical and topical information on insolvency, bankruptcy and business recovery matters to publish "eurofenix" for members to maintain the INSOL Europe website for members and others to discuss and negotiate with relevant officials of European national and international bodies in regard to any matter which may concern members to make submissions and contribute to the work of European and other International official bodies who are affected by the insolvency process, or who have a role to play in the saving of businesses and jobs to hold international and regional congresses throughout Europe to co-operate with INSOL International and its member organisations and other international associations in connection with any insolvency study or project INSOL Europe The European Organisation For Insolvency Professionals to facilitate networking between members and exchange of professional experience to assist in the education and training of members, their staff and others

INSOL International INSOL Europe will encourage greater international co-operation and communication within Europe, and also with the rest of the world through its membership of INSOL International. INSOL Europe is a member of INSOL International, the global insolvency and turnaround association with over 7000 members. Members of INSOL Europe are entitled to the full benefits and services provided by INSOL International, including the right to attend INSOL International conferences and to receive INSOL International s newsletter, INSOL World, and publications. In recent years these publications have included Directors in the Twilight Zone, Cross Border Insolvency a Guide to Recognition and Enforcement and The INSOL Principles for Multicreditor Workouts. INSOL Europe members have participated in the United Nations Commission for International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) Working Groups on Cross Border Insolvency Law and the Insolvency Legislative Guide. Other INSOL Europe members have been involved in a range of INSOL s activities and have served on INSOL s Board of Directors. Directory Members are entitled to have their name, firm, qualification and address, telephone, fax and e-mail address published in the Annual Directory, which is issued to all members free of charge and is published on the INSOL Europe and INSOL International websites. Networking The Annual Congress provides members with excellent opportunities for networking, and specific times are set aside where members may meet informally and discuss matters of mutual interest. Networking Weekends are organised for small groups of members to meet throughout Europe. Governance INSOL Europe is governed by the Secretary-General who is responsible for the day to day management of INSOL Europe. Its affairs are administered by a Council which elects the President, Deputy President, Vice President and Treasurer. Council consists of the officers, a Council member from each country with a number of members as Council may decide and several other members elected from the membership. The benefits of membership of INSOL Europe European Congresses INSOL Europe holds an annual congress throughout Europe. The first congress was held in London in 1981 and since then congresses have been held annually in Paris and Nice (France) Den Haag (Netherlands) Florence Como and Rome (Italy) Baden Baden and Munich (Germany) Marbella and Toledo (Spain) Dromoland Castle and Cork (Ireland) St. Helier (Jersey) Knokke (Belgium) Vilamoura (Portugal) Telfs (Austria) Budapest (Hungary) Stratford-upon- Avon (England) Oslo (Norway) Malta and Prague (Czech Republic). The conferences in 2005 and 2006 will be held in Amsterdam (Netherlands) and Bucharest (Romania). The Congress is the annual flagship of the Association and the key papers are published in the newsletter and made available for all delegates and for other members. Eurofenix INSOL Europe publishes eurofenix three or four times a year in English and French. It features current events concerning the profession in Europe; news and appointments; high quality technical articles written by leading practitioners and academics; news concerning law reform throughout Europe; the efforts that emerging market countries are making to introduce insolvency legislation and practice and issues related to the European Insolvency Regulation and jurisprudence. Glossaries Every member of INSOL Europe receives a loose-leaf Glossary of Terms covering the insolvency laws of many European countries. These Glossaries are in English, French, German and the language of the country itself, and are added to at regular intervals. They are also available for sale to non-members. Research and Training Projects INSOL Europe undertakes a wide range of projects relating to insolvency law and practice within Europe and across European borders. Current projects include training and workshop assignments for emerging market countries and the monitoring of the EU Insolvency Regulation. Short duration technical courses are also organised by members of the Academic Wing. INSOL Europe is prepared to give evidence to Governments or Governmental bodies upon request, in regard to members experience with the law and practice in their own countries, in general or concerning foreign or cross-border matters. INSOL Europe is available to identify speakers on insolvency related topics for meetings and conferences. The Association has also developed a website for dissemination of information and the use of exchange of views generally. Linking with other websites is possible. The Technical Committee will, from time to time, identify and initiate studies into insolvency or turnaround matters of interest, legislation or on comparative subjects.

Membership Qualified lawyers, accountants and insolvency practitioners are entitled to admission as full members. Lenders, regulators, academics, members of the judiciary, credit managers and credit insurers may become associate members. Members of INSOL Europe come from Austria, Belgium, Channel Islands, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Israel, Latvia, Luxembourg, Malta, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, Netherlands, United Kingdom and the Ukraine. Professionals from outside Europe, who are interested in European affairs, cross border insolvency and recovery work are included among our associate members.
