Areas to Cover Fleet Support Objectives C-130 Fleet Recapitalization with customers/operators Modification Requirements: Internal requirement changes and (External) Mandates for current and future CNS/ATM as applicable to C-130 Aircraft. Decision making for CNS/ATM and Other Operating requirements? LM Accomplished Modernization Solution Questions
Fleet Support Objectives Provide OEM support for upgrading the Legacy C-130 aircraft for both Internal and Mandated (external) Operational Requirements. In Addition support can be provided to suppliers interested in OEM Safety of Flight approvals for equipment/modifications to C-130 aircraft. OEM Support to assure safe and reliable operations of C-130 aircraft modifications under the same quality and processes as the aircraft was manufactured. LM Aero REQUIRES certain installation requirements for Safety of Flight approvals and can provide detailed information for specific Customer Airworthiness Authority Approvals. i.e. Aircraft analysis reviews for impacts to existing systems and flight quality (EMI, Human Interface, Antenna, etc.) Integrated Technical Publication support for updates including the upgrade modifications and Revision services. (Review, Investigate and Survey Maintenance Inspection Program, A/C and offer alternatives to potentially save costs and downtime.)
Fleet Support Offers LM Sustainment Services Maintenance Inspection Program Updates Technical Publication support and revision services. Engineering Support; Repairs beyond standard repairs. Modifications for alternative mission objectives. Tanker, System replacements, Sensors, CNS/ATM, etc. Assistance with Spare equipment and system replacements Outdated/ non-repairable system replacements Training Coordination Services
Recapitalization Financial Definition; Restructuring a company's debt and equity mixture, most often with the aim of making a company's capital structure more stable. Essentially, the process involves the exchange of one form of financing for another, such as removing preferred shares from the company's capital structure and replacing them with bonds C-130 Transport Definition; Restructuring an Operator s sustainment expense and time/availability mixture, most often with the aim of making an Operators Fleet more available for operations. Essentially, the process involves the exchange of one form of Sustainment for another, such as eliminating sustainment expenses (high Maintenance items) from the Operators Fleet structure and replacing with lower maintenance items for improved availability.
Decision Making Thus, the decision making process that is required to determine how to support operations. For the customer/operators to determine how to approach the sustainment of the Transportation needs, most of the time the decision gets made by the lowest cost means to sustain or recapitalize their fleet. LM is available to assist with this decision making process by providing aircraft surveys, requirements development, and modification recommendations working with the operators and maintainers. Alternatives to updating aircraft are New procurement decisions and/or a phased approach to recapitalization.
Modification Requirements Ask yourself, have the requirements changed since initial procurement of the A/C? Answer is normally, YES, for the mandated external requirements, CNS/ATM. Therefore, when updating the aircraft for Mandated requirements there may be a benefit to also include any Operational requirement updates since the aircraft will be down for modifications and prove more cost effective for integration to be included. For the unique internal requirements it will need to be determined how to best incorporated and if at the same time there is value to incorporate during this time. This briefing will focus more on the core modification for CNS/ATM requirements. LM Aero has developed a modification for customers to update their aircraft. And can provide incorporation/integration for the unique operational requirements also.
