Cooperation with Japan on Training of Specialists in ICT During the period from 1991 to 2009 more than 1200 Uzbek specialists participated at trainings and factory tests in training centers of Japan and Uzbekistan. MOU between and NEC on cooperation in telecommunications and IT was signed in 2006. Based on MOU, in cooperation with NEC, trainings and seminars in optical-fiber cable, microwave equipment, transmission & switching systems, TV-transmitters, 3rd generation mobile systems (3G), digital broadcasting systems, supercomputer technologies were organized. For today more than 600 specialists studied and obtained certificates.

Development of Digital Television Plan for the transition from analog broadcasting to digital until 2015 was elaborated In August 2008 digital TV transmitters of NEC (Japan) and Rohde & Schwarz (Germany) were put into trial operation in Tashkent and Bukhara cities Contracts with NEC Corporation for supply of 3 digital TV transmitters for Tashkent city and with Rohde & Schwarz for supply of 1 digital TV transmitter for Samarkand city were signed Production of digital TV receivers (Set-top-box) is planned In the Free Economic Industrial Zone Navoi

Currently Realizing Project within the FIEZ Navoi Production of Set-Top Boxes for Digital Television Product Digital TV Signals Receiver (Set-Top Box) Production Capacity 5000 pieces per 1 year Consumers Private and legal entities in Uzbekistan Project Budget 1,64 billion $US Employees 30 employees (8 managers, 22 engineers & technicians) Production Territory SIEZ Navoi, 0,5 hectares (production place is 2800 м2)
