LOGIN to the Spam Soap Console: go to https://console.spamsoap.com. Your credentials are provided in your Welcome Document. EMAIL PROTECTION OVERVIEW After logging in, the first page that loads is the Overview tab, under the main heading of Email Protection. Click Display Statistics to get rollup data for all your domains. This provides a 24 hour snap-shot of data like total traffic, messages filtered for reasons of spam, virus or attachment, Disaster Recovery activity, and more.. EMAIL PROTECTION QUARANTINE Clicking on this tab brings you to a search engine where you can search for quarantined mail based on the following criteria; sender, recipient, threat, day, direction (inbound and/or outbound if applicable). EMAIL PROTECTION POLICIES Clicking on this tab brings you to your Policy Sets, which control how viruses, spam, content, attachments, etc. are handled according to your preferences. Take a few minutes to browse through to check the default settings. Any changes made here will affect the entire domain. New policy sets can be created and groups of users assigned to these policies with different settings and configurations. Use the help button to get specific information about each section and its use. Policy page shown below. Double click the line item you d like to edit, or select it and press the Edit button. EMAIL PROTECTION SETUP - INBOUND SERVERS Clicking on this tab brings you to the Setup area where you can add/change inbound and/or outbound servers, manage Disaster Recovery, view your MX records, change your user creation settings (SMTP Discovery or Explicit), or create notification distribution lists. Use the help button to get specific information about each section and its use. Setup tab / Inbound Servers EMAIL PROTECTION SETUP - FIREWALL In order to prevent senders from bypassing filtering by connecting directly to customer mail servers, it is recommended that the servers be locked down so that they only accept SMTP traffic from the filtering service mail servers. For your reference, the IP subnets currently hosting filtering service mail servers are listed below and in the control console. *Prior to locking down the firewall, please allow 72 hours to ensure DNS propagation for all mail traffic. EMAIL PROTECTION REPORTS Clicking on this tab brings you to the default report: Traffic: Overview. This report shows inbound and/or outbound traffic and bandwidth for the current week. ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT USERS The Users tab will provide a list of current users under user accounts. By default, SMTP Discovery creates a new user after 8 successful mail deliveries in a 24 hour period are received for that user. If you don t see all your users listed (or the user in question has not received a quarantine report after 7 days of service), you may need to create such users manually. This can be done by clicking New. Other buttons include Edit, Delete, Download, and Sync if Active Directory Sync is enabled. Account Management Section / Users tab ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT CUSTOMERS Some control console admins will need to manage several customers (companies) at a time. If more than one customer environment is listed in your account, the CUSTOMERS tab will list each of them individually. Clicking on a single customer in the list brings you to the Customer Details page, showing general account and Email Protection Settings. *If additional solutions are provisioned for a customer account, they will appear here as well. ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT DOMAINS Clicking on this tab shows a list of domains filtered for your customer account. Clicking on a domain in the list brings you to the Domain Details page. Please contact Spam Soap to make changes to your account.
