AMERICAN ACADEMY OF CHILD & ADOLESCENT PSYCHIATRY (AACAP): www.aacap.org/cs/award_opportunities/medical_students_awards Jeanne Spurlock Research Fellowship in Substance Abuse and Addiction for Minority Medical Students: Application deadline: February 15, 2013 Conduct research in substance abuse in relation to child and adult psychiatry $4,000 stipend for 12 weeks, $3,000 will be sent to the student s mentor to disburse and $1,000 will be sent directly to the recipient after all requirements are fulfilled. Must submit an abstract outlining their research poster presentation for publication in the AACAP Book of Scientific Proceedings. Required to attend the AACAP Annual meeting in San Francisco, CA in October with travel reimbursement to attend various educational, mentoring and network sessions and to submit a proposal to present their research in a new research poster session with recognition at the Young Leaders Awards Ceremony Mentor must be an AACAP member Summer Medical Student Fellowships: Application deadline: February 15, 2013 Explore a career in child adolescent psychiatry by gaining work experience and meet leaders $3,500 stipend for 12 weeks, $2,500 will be sent to the mentor to disburse and $1,000 will be sent directly to the recipient after all requirements are fulfilled Must submit a final paper summarizing the clinical/research training experience Required to attend the AACAP Annual meeting in San Francisco, CA in October with travel reimbursement and attend various educational, mentoring and network sessions and to submit a Call for Papers submission for presenting their clinical/research experiences in a new research poster session with recognition at a Young Leaders Awards Ceremony Mentor must be a AACAP member
