Fuerteventura, with the aim of recovering the domestic tourism. The main tourism event in the national market, Fitur, is the beginning of Fuerteventura to recover the national tourism. This segment has receded because of the crisis and the cuts in the national economy. Fitur is the beginning of the recovering of the national tourism. The domestic tourism is in a bad situation because of the crisis, the high price of the air transport and the poor decisions of the Spanish government explain Blas Acosta. Fuerteventura potency the sport Tourism and presents in Fitur the Windsurfing World Championship in Pájara Fuerteventura is an island of excellence also for sports tourism. The possibilities offered to all disciplines with its open spaces and stable climate were highlighted at FITUR 2013. The tourism councilor has confirmed that during 2013 the air connections with United Kingdom will be increased and other growth markets as Italy, France or Poland will be strengthened with new tour operators that will operate with Fuerteventura this summer. The Grand Hotel Atlantis Bahia Real has been recognized with these awards in recent years, getting a good position internationally.

NEWS Fuerteventura expands its air connections with the north of Europe and recovers Santiago de Compostela. Air Berlín flight from January to Stockholm and from May to Warsaw, while Air Europa will connect Fuerteventura with the capital of Galicia. The north of Spain and the north of Europe are the areas that will expand its connections with Fuerteventura which show the interest of the touristic market and the confidence of the airlines for the destination. The German company Air Berlin has scheduled until March a direct flight from Fuerteventura to the Airport of Arlanda, in Stockholm. This flight has a frequency of once a week. Apart of this connection of Air Berlin with Stockholm, from May to October of 2013, the German company will schedule another flight to Warsaw (Poland) with two direct flights per week. The other good news for the touristic sector of Fuerteventura in the first days of 2013 is the return of the route with Santiago de Compostela. The company Air Europa will recover the next summer season their direct flights between the capital of Galicia and the island with one flight per week. This route will be operative from 19th of June until 25th of September Itaka expand its connections with Fuerteventura The tour operator Itaka, connect Fuerteventura with the airport of Wroclaw, the fourth city of the country and the main cultural center. Fuerteventura reinforces the relationship with Poland, one of the emergent tourist markets for our destination. The tour operator Itaka, will start the new route between Fuerteventura and Wroclaw and also for the summer of 2013 is planning to increase the connections with the island. Wroclaw, located by the border with Germany and the Czech republic, is the economic and cultural center more important of the province of lower Silesia.
