March 21 CHARLOTTE EPA-608 Refrigerant Certification Review & Testing $295 includes test IT S THE LAW!! You MUST be certified under $75 retest Section 608 of the Clean Air Act to legally work on NO CLASS Stationary air conditioners and refrigeration systems. The EPA-608 Refrigerant Certification Review & Testing is an approved certification program by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The exam certifies participants to handle any type of refrigerants in the Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVAC/R) industry today. Using the Refrigerant Transition and Recovery Certification Program Manual for HVAC/R Technicians, you will review the most current laws, pending changes and issues concerning refrigerants, their use, and their impact on the environment. This 3-part course includes: book home study, classroom lecture/overview and exam. The class is designed to prepare technicians, service and facility operation personnel and anyone who handles refrigerant to complete the EPA Refrigerant Certification exam. Participants can be certified in Type I Small Appliance; Type II High Pressure and Very High Pressure; Type III Low Pressure or Type IV Universal (Type I, Type II and Type III). The course covers ozone depletion, EPA regulations, safe handling and transportation, refrigerant recovery, recycling and reclamation. What is covered: Core General Principles which MUST be passed for any certification. NO CLASS R-410A refrigerant has been selected as the refrigerant of choice of most new equipment manufacturers to replace R-22. Because this refrigerant operates at significantly higher pressures than R-22, it will dramatically change the way you do business. New tools, gauges, recovery equipment, and safety procedures are required. Additionally, manufacturers are requiring that anyone working with this new refrigerant or equipment must receive additional training in its proper handle and safety issues this includes installers, technicians, equipment owners, and maintenance & service personnel. Dealers must also be schooled in stricter installation and service techniques required for working with these units. Servicing these units also requires that you use reversing valves, expansion valves, filter-driers, and other components specifically designed for R-410A. March 27 CHARLOTTE 1 Day Program Schematics & Wiring Diagrams Understand the Electrical Languages that Run Your Facility and Equipment $325 Have you ever been confused when looking at a wiring diagram? If so, this course can help clear up the mystery! This excellent course was developed to promote the concept of troubleshooting and repair of systems using schematics and wiring diagrams. The program focuses on troubleshooting techniques and the concept of internal isolation. Students participate in the recognition of components and circuits, including resistors, transistors, capacitors, transformers, coils, relays and more. The latest ANSI diagrams are discussed, which includes understanding ladders, logic, keys and legends. Circuit board technology is also covered. The ability to read and understand schematics and drawings is an absolute must. Several types of drawings and diagrams will be examined during this course including Block, Pictorial, One-line, Wiring, Terminal, and Schematic. The differences between these drawings will be emphasized and the purpose and flow of each type will be clarified. In order to learn the symbolic language, you must start at the beginning. Individual component symbols will be presented along with an explanation of their function and purpose in the circuit. To make it easier to relate the diagrams to the actual equipment, students will see pictorial examples or photos of the components along with the description. January 10 11 $890 GREENVILLE April 18 19 CHARLOTTE May 16 17 ASHEVILLE Hands-On Electrical Troubleshooting & Preventive Maintenance Build & troubleshoot Electrical Circuits Using Real World Components Attendees in this course will not be playing with trainers built for a classroom but, instead, they ll be working with real world industrial components found in their facility. They will be using CAT III industrial meters to troubleshoot just as they should in their facility. They will troubleshoot industrial components from pushbuttons to relays and motor starters. They will wire basic electrical circuits using wiring diagrams and then, once they understand how they operate, they will troubleshoot faults inserted by the instructor. They will use a phase-rotation meter, megohmmeter and different types of multimeters and voltage testers. They will see three-phase power in action and learn to measure its values. They will learn what electrical PPE they should wear and will even have the opportunity to try on Flame Resistant (FR) clothing. They will try out different types of electrically rated rubber gloves and learn what they should be using in the field. Granted, we can t substitute years of experience in a day or two of training, but we can show you how to safely and correctly troubleshoot electrical components and circuits based on your career level.
