If an IP or Name-based site is deleted and then re-added with the same name, a Windows authentication dialog box may pop up while browsing the Web or FTP site. (10685) Solution: Wait for around 5 minutes before re-adding the site. If an IP or Name-based site is deleted and then re-adding the site with the same name fails with the following error message, "C:\\PROGRA~1\\Ensim\\WebGui\\base\\services\\winvirtualhosting\\addsite.ws f(123, 6) Cannot create a file when that file already exists.\012". (10686) Solution: Wait for around 5 minutes before re-adding the site. The Web logs are generated specific to GMT. Hence, the times indicated within the Web reports are GMT times. To find out the statistics with respect to your local time, add or subtract the time difference between your local time and GMT. (14806) If an user U1 forwards his email to an user U2 and the user U2 in turn forwards his email back to the user U1, both of them do not receive any email. (15179) Cause: This happens due to certain issues with MailMax. Solution: Remove the forwarding from either user and set another separate email forward, if desired. A directory created in the domain s file system using a FTP client is viewable by anonymous users, that is, these users can list the contents of this directory. They can also download the contents of this directory. (15058) An user account configured using Outlook Express 6 with the IMAP protocol does not receive mail if sent using the bcc field. Known issues If you add an IP spam filter on a domain to block a certain domain which is hosted on some virtual hosting environment (for example, Linux WEBppliance, WEBppliance for Windows), then this spam filter may not work. This depends on the way virtual hosting environment delivers the mail. If it uses the primary IP address of the server, which is the case with Linux WEBppliance and WEBppliance for Windows, then, the receiving domain will see the connection from the primary IP address of the box and not from the IP address of the virtual domain. Hence, in this scenario, IP spam filter will not work. (15756) If you add an IP spam filter, then mail sent from these blocked IP addresses does not bounce back to the sender. In effect, the senders of these blocked IP addresses do not receive any indication that their mail has not been delivered. (15760) FTP logs are not generated for Name-based sites if accessed over standard port. For more information see the Site Administrator online help topic, Services - Using IIS FTP Server - Using the IIS FTP Server. (14907) If the network settings of the WEBppliance server are changed through the Network Configuration option of WEBppliance (Start -> Programs -> Ensim WEBppliance -> Network Configuration), the computer name and IP address of the server has to be changed manually to correspond with the changed network settings. (16724) Resetting file permissions at the Site Administrator level may give an error, if the disk quota for the site has been exceeded. However, the file permissions are reset correctly, but the ownership may not be set. The disk quota for a site may be exceeded in the following cases. (16838, 16839) A site user receives a large mail attachment. The Web or FTP log files for the site increase in size. If the mail user password is changed through the WEBppliance GUI, the mail server may need to be restarted, otherwise the old password remains active for all IMAP related operations. To resolve this, the IMAP service is restarted daily at 1.30 A.M. (16030) The Remote Admin option for remote administration of MailMax is no longer available, since MailMax administration can now be done through WEBppliance. (13708) Ensim WEBppliance 3.0 for Windows (ServerXchange) Release Notes 11
Known issues After installing WEBppliance 3.0 and before creating domains, you have to enter an email address for the Appliance Administrator. Failure to do this, results in invalid values for the From and CC fields in email sent from the Appliance Administrator account. (16996) Authentication is required for forms and hit counters created and submitted through FrontPage client. (16179) Cause: This happens due to IIS Web Server security enforced by WEBppliance. Application specific issues Application specific issues Changing MySQL root password During WEBppliance 3.0 installation the MySQL password is set to a random value. To change this password follow these steps. 1 Log on to the WEBppliance server as the Administrator, using the console or terminal services. 2 Access the command prompt window by clicking Start -> Run and type cmd in the Run window. 3 Change the directory to C:\Program Files\Ensim\WEBppliance, assuming that WEBppliance 3.0 is installed in default location. 4 Type the following command: cscript setmysqlrootpasswd.vbs new_root_password where, new_root_password is your new password. If your password contains spaces, enclose them within double quotes. For example, cscript setmysqlrootpasswd.vbs "$%^&# 123" This sets the password to $%^&# 123. Changing email user password is not reflected in Web Mail In some cases changing the email user password through the WEBppliance interface does not reflect automatically in Web Mail. The change in password becomes active after one day. Until that time, the users have to continue using their old passwords. The POP and User Administrator passwords are not affected and the password change is correctly reflected. This is due to certain issues with MailMax IMAP service. Documentation issues In the Appliance Administrator online help, the Resellers - Add/Edit Plans topic mentions the Save as existing Plan option. This is no longer present in the Reseller Administrator interface. (16859) Ensim WEBppliance 3.0 for Windows (ServerXchange) Release Notes 13
