YAVE Test Systems Efficient Verification for Avionic Product Development With YAVE FTI offers the full range of test systems from compact budget units up to complex systems configured to customers individual requirements. YAVE hardware and software are designed for the planning, preparation and execution of a traceable test process. This includes deterministic reproducibility of the test cycle and generation of comparable test results. YAVE can become your tool for the development, verification, qualification and certification on unit, system and product level. Customers like Airbus already benefit from FTI s expertise by using a complex integrated YAVE test system for their High Lift Tests.

Why Test Systems at all? Every constructed unit, system or product fulfills a certain set of requirements. These requirements have originally been the basis of the design and development process which finally led to a ready to use deliverable product a customer is looking for. However, before this product can be handed over verification is necessary to ensure all requirements have been met correctly. Product verification leads to a high level of quality and, consequently, satisfied customers. A deterministic test process ensures that repeating the same test under identical conditions leads to the same results. Changing the Unit under Test whilst keeping all other conditions and parameters constant allows a direct comparison of results and direct correlation to the changes made. Depending on the requirements test systems support the verification, qualification and certification of a unit, system or product. YAVE Components YAVE consists of three main modules: YAVE ITE manages the overall workflow of requirements engineering, test execution and verification in an Integrated Test Environment. YAVE TEE provides the required deterministic Test Execution Environment (TEE) on which all defined test case are processed. YAVE SRL (the Signal Routing Layer) extends YAVE to access a Unit under Test (UuT) on the physical layer. Furthermore, certain additional hardware devices provide a deterministic error injection on that physical connection.

YAVE ITE - Integrated Test Environment FTI offers an Integrated Test Environment to manage the entire test and certification process. YAVE ITE supports the test, verification and qualification steps up to the whole certification process of your product. When it comes to highly complex components nowadays a considerable proportion of the budget and development time is required for testing the units. Not only manpower but also the acquisition and operation of the test facility are significant expenses. Furthermore, with the increased complexity of components, e.g. in the aerospace sector, testing becomes more and more important to ensure maximum safety and reliability. This is only possible through the use of tools and hardware for effective planning, monitoring and control. Modern test facilities need tools with very high flexibility concerning test items and test equipment. YAVE ITE supports the test planning and the entire test process. Following is defined the modules of YAVE ITE. Test and Verification Reporting Individual test reports with detailed record data Traceability reports of the development process Verification report of Units under Test User defined templates for all report Type YAVE TEE - Test Execution Environment FTI s Test Execution Environment offers a modularized system which can be easily adjusted to your needs. The Test Execution Environment combines a Real-time Engine (RTE) with a standardized interface, which allows the system to be tailored to the demands of the application. An automatic and deterministic test system requires a Real-time Engine where the tests can be executed on. FTI s Test and Verification platform YAVE offers a modularized Real-time system. This system accesses an Input and Output system, executes a high level test language and if necessary integrates needed simulation models. The simulation models can supply the functionality of missing sub- systems. The Real-time Engine provides a deterministic frame execution of the defined test cases. The test execution compromises The defined Test Scripts Provided Simulation Models (optional) The YAVE TEE Real-time frame length is dependent on the required execution load (General: 500 µs). YAVE TEE provides an abstraction of certain RTEs which provides an easy customization to the required Real-time performance and functionality. YAVE s Test Execution Environment offers optional access and control to all attached hardware devices like I/O Access Relay Matrix Hardware Simulation Resistor Bank Power Supply Unit Digital Multi Meter

YAVE SRL - Signal Routing Layer The Signal Routing Layer is the interface between the Test Execution Environment and the Unit under Test. FTI s Signal Routing Layer offers a modularized system which can be easily adjusted to your needs. The SRL provides the possibilities to access and control the interface of the Unit under Test via the following SRL modules: I/O Access Power Supply Unit Digital Multi Meter Besides that the SRL offers a deterministic and fully automatic error insertion via Relay Matrix Hardware Simulation Resistor Bank YAVE - Your Advanced Verification Environment YAVE Test Systems support the whole requirement-based development process defined by the V Model. Degree of V&V process automation up to 50% Increase of V&V process efficiency up to 30% YAVE integrates existing verification processes and tools, also from other suppliers. YAVE provides open standards and interfaces, which can be individually used. YAVE integrates common real-time platforms and test systems.
