lenght overall extended 2.6 m Electric IV-Pole In order to regulate the pressure of infusion one may use an electric (programmable) infusion pole which can be connected to the Qube system. Steering of the infusion pole can be performed by the big footswitch with switches or by the touchscreen. Ascending and descending of the infusion bottle may be signalized by an appointed acoustic signal. The height of the bottle may be specially defined and saved, also in each profile, for each surgeon. This ensures that familiar parameters enable full concentration on the surgical procedures. Fluid Path Adaption* The unique Fluid Path Adaption combines the advantages of the electric infusion pole and Infusion Pressure Control! With the Fluid Path Adaption surgeons define the irrigation level and the electric infusion pole automatically adapts the height of the bottle. Additionally the Infusion Pressure Control function ensures that the irrigation is available from the beginning in the determined amount. By that irrigation is active before vacuum is created and the risk of chamber collapse and corneal burn is minimized. By bringing more fluid into the eye, the anterior chamber stability is improved. Dual-linear footswitch The central navigation pedal ensures uninterrupted surgical procedures. Nine freely programmable bumpers provide individually programmable steps. This way, customized solutions for individual preferences are possible. Surgeons who are used to their specific settings will appreciate these customizable options as well as beginners whose personal preferences are still to be discovered. Intuitive operation A coherent user interface is the basis for an easy to understand operation. Explicit symbols and a clear design allow to navigate in a logical and safe way. The intuitive Graphical User Interface was developed together with cataract specialists in hospitals and privat clinics One hand cassette system The Qube one hand cassette system guarantees maximum security through an extra thick tubing in an anti-kink design and a liquid level sensor. The collection bag is protected by a non-return-valve so that the fluid cannot return to the cassette if vacuum is generated. If tissue was aspirated involuntarily, a fast reaction is essential. Backflush can be activated via the dual-linear footswitch and starts the absorbed materials reflux and resolves clogging. An integrated floater monitors the liquid level and issues warnings signals when the collection bag is filled. The assembly groups are preconnected and the tubes are coiled to allow a one-hand fitting to the Qube system. The convenient click-press-system allows simple and quick changing times. Qube pump system The Qube pump system includes a state-of-the-art venturi pump. The extra thick irrigation tubing, the auto backflush function (with panic and anti collapse function) and fast venting in the cassette enable increased safety. A rigid aspiration line, a large filter at the drip chamber and software like threshold irrigation contribute to anterior chamber stability. The integrated anti-surge function allows to benefit from the advantages of a venturi pump system without restrictions. Comparisons between venturi and peristaltic pumps showed obvious lower surgical time in bimanual microincisional cataract surgery. As insicion sizes are getting below 2mm the advantages of peristaltic pumps decrease, but the benefits of venturi pumps remain. IPC Infusion Pressure Control The Qube phaco system is equipped with an Infusion Pressure Control function. This function is useful for pressurising the infusion bottle. Fluid will be transported into the eye with a controlled air pressure. The infusion bottles drip chamber should be hanging a few centimetres above the patient s eye. IPC Infusion Pressure Control stands for independence from ceiling heights and for more fluid and by that for more safety in the intraoperative procedure.
Qubic phaco mode Qubic Constant Qubic Amplitude Pulsed Beginners in the operating theatre will benefit in the same way from the Qubic phaco mode as experienced cataract surgeons. Qubic phaco mode means that the phaco energy only slowly increases according to the footswitch movement. Therefore novice ophthalmologists are on the safe side. But if there is a need for the highest amount of phaco energy, the full effect is given. Compared to the linear mode, the phaco curve rises more moderately. The system compensates and excuses excessive footswitch movement intraoperatively. Qubic phaco is available in Constant, Amplitude Pulsed and Pulsed Width mode. Width phaco mode Linear Pulsed Qubic Pulsed This phaco mode reduces the emitted ultrasound energy. Width phaco is available in Fix Pulsed, Auto Pulsed, Linear Pulsed and Qubic Pulsed mode. Focus on Linear Pulsed Width and Qubic Pulsed Width mode! Up to 40 phaco pulses per second are adjustable. The pulse frequency is also selectable and corresponds to the footswitch movement. High amounts of vacuum can be emitted selectively and better during surgery. The Width phaco mode helps to avoid a collapse of the anterior chamber and burns. With the Width phaco mode hard and mature nuclei can be emulsified without clogging and free from interference. Handpiece Elegance The Qube phaco system is equipped with the phaco handle Elegance. The handpiece is designed for power electronics in the range of 40 khz +/- 2000 Hz. It comes with two piezo crystals and calibrates itself.
