Allocation of places 4 Allocation of places The respective Steering Committee of the Faculty of Law selects students on the basis of the written applications and individual selection interviews. The selection interview is not mandatory. Places are allocated based on the following criteria: Average grade of Bachelor's degree or previous academic achievements Knowledge of the language of instruction The student's motivation for studying as outlined in the letter of motivation and Additional qualifications that are relevant for the Double Degree Master's program (e.g. work references, internships). The orientation and selection interviews may be decisive factors for the allocation of a place. Provisional dates of the selection interviews will be published online in advance. Invitations to individual suitability interviews will be sent by e-mail. Applicants for whom no place can be allocated at a partner faculty of the Double Degree Master's program will be reregistered for the regular Master's program of their choice by the Dean s Office or will have their enrollment canceled if desired after the selection process has been finalized. For applicants who had intended to take part in a Master of Law in English, reregistration for a regular Master's program is only possible if evidence of sufficient knowledge of the German language can be provided. If a second- or third-choice place is awarded, the Dean s Office will automatically arrange reregistration for the relevant program.
