Known Issues/Requested Enhancements Patient Confirmation for External Results & eprescribing Refill Requests A new Falcon EHR functionality has been added to automatically match patients on External Results and eprescribing Refill Requests by Patient Identifier, and/or Last Name; First Name; Date of Birth (DOB). When the automated match criterion is satisfied, the request is automatically attached to the patient record. The current behavior, Confirm Patient, will only be prompted when the systematic match could not be performed. Medication(s) Medication duration field has been added to indicate the number of days the medication is prescribed. (CR24,299) Problem List Association (ICD9) can be added during or after a prescription has been saved. (CR25,020) Patient Allergy information is not viewable on medication screen. (CR25,022) Prescribing Physician has been removed from medication grid. Rx Date/Prescriber column reflects the information pertaining to when and who prescribed the medication. (CR25,030) Renew Date has been removed from medication screen. (CR25,040) Medication lists can be printed with or without interaction details. (CR25,409) Drug Interaction screen is no longer grayed out when performing interaction checks. (25,411) Prescribing Class 3 Drugs action will default to print. (CR25,406) echarting Printing Referral Letter only will no longer generate the Medical Doctor (MD) name to appear multiple times. (CR24,678) Printed encounter documentation will no longer break between single lines of text, splitting a line on two separate pages. (CR24,649) Printing, encounter letterhead and patient information is formatted and correctly displayed. (CR25,971) PG. 3

Lab Orders Requisition notes entered on the Lab Order Entry screen will be printed on the requisition form. (CR22,454) PM Interface ADT Refresh button has been added to the Patient Manager > Patient Demographic screen allowing practices with a Practice Management System (PM) interface that is enabled to manually refresh the demographic patient data added/updated within the PM system. (CR26,190) New Features in R16.0 Release Outbound Charge Interface(s) Expanded current inbound Admission, Discharge and Transfer (ADT) & Scheduling Information Unsolicited (SIU) Falcon infrastructure to include outbound charges to Practice Management Systems. Expanding our current infrastructure will provide the ability for practices to automatically send charges to their PM system, if an interface has been purchased, minimizing duplicate entry. Outbound charge interfaces have been deployed for Practice Management Systems, Athena and Medical Manager in R16. PG. 4

Lab Result(s) Falcon EHR has worked to implement additional Results-only interfaces. It was identified that in many instances Vendors do not provide the associated PDF report along with the discrete result values. In an effort to provide a meaningful report within Falcon, along with the discrete result values, Falcon will generate a report using crystal reports. These reports will be provided and accessible via the Reports module. If you do not see an associated PDF report in Patient Manager > Results Inquiry, please go to the Reports module. Through this avenue, you will view and gain access to the Falcon-generated report. Transcriptions The transcription notification will be available from either the Message Center or in the Patient Locator module for assigned user roles. With these new features, practices will be able to quickly embed the transcription into the user s designated section of an encounter and save so that the user can Sign/ Finalize the note. Online Help Phase 1 The user can access an online user guide by clicking the question mark button in the lower right hand corner. From the help screen, the user can click through help topics or search for a specific topic. PG. 5

echarting Generate Dialysis Intake Report This new module will give you the ability to generate and send a dialysis intake report via patient manager. The purpose of this enhancement is to automate the process of e-mailing/faxing all the required information to register a patient at a DaVita dialysis clinic. View Dialysis Patient Information Ability to view the patient s dialysis history and recent dialysis lab results available via E-Charting. PG. 6

Dialysis History Dialysis Lab Results PG. 7

echarting Quick Note This tool gives users the ability to create an encounter based off of a previous encounter. There are three primary features: 1. Select a previous encounter from which to base a new encounter by clicking copy in the Encounter History tab. This will allow the user to select which sections to copy into the new encounter: 2. While editing an encounter, select the copy button at the top of a section. This action pulls forward the most recent same-section type into the encounter: PG. 8

3) Select the View Previous Visits button while documenting an encounter in e-charting. This allows the user to view all previous sections of the same type and select one to copy forward: Rounding Templates The following templates were added to be used to document in-center visits: Comprehensive rounding template Limited rounding template In-hospital rounding template Tobacco usage tracking All templates containing Habit section will contain the Tobacco question enabling the end-user to capture the patient tobacco use status. This functionality is being introduced to satisfy ONCHIT certification requirements. ONCHIT criterion is 170.302 (g) Smoking status. Enable a user to electronically record, modify, and retrieve the smoking status of a patient. Smoking status types must include: current every day smoker; current some day smoker; former smoker; never smoker; smoker, current status unknown; unknown if ever smoked. In addition, a coding classification is also being introduced for future reporting. PG. 9

ESA Therapy Template The ESA Therapy Template section serves two purposes: 1. Provides users with an easy-to-use interface in which they may document ESA injections administration. 2. Provides users with ESA administration protocol information. Inserting New Section View of ESA Therapy Screen: Displays pertinent information for an ESA Therapy injection. PG. 10

Vitals section Includes all vitals recorded in the current encounter. Labs information Previously recorded lab information is displayed. If lab result values are older than CDC Guidelines permit, warning will be displayed: (HGB > 30 days, Ferritin and TSAT > 3 months). PG. 11

Injection information Procedure information is captured for ESA injection. History information Previously entered ESA Therapy injections are displayed by encounter date. Data includes medication given, lab results recorded at time of injection, procedure notes and the user who provided the injection. PG. 12
