The American Academy of Forensic Sciences is pleased to present the 2015 CSI Summer Camp for High School Teens. CSI - Helping bring the classroom to life. Since the mid-1970 s, The American Academy of Forensic Sciences (AAFS) has been hosting oneday Student Academy sessions for middle- and high school students during its Annual Meetings. Student Academy is designed to introduce students to the real world of multidisciplinary forensics and over the years has steadily grown in popularity. With today s explosion of television programs and media coverage of the latest advancements in the forensic sciences, students have become fascinated with anything relating to the work of the forensic scientist. Wishing to foster a stronger interest in science learning among our nation s young people, the AAFS now co-sponsors the CSI Summer Camp, a weeklong submersion into the field of forensics. California State University, Los Angeles 5151 University Drive Los Angeles, CA July 27-31, 2015 A full schedule of exciting hands-on learning will be provided at the July 27-31, 2015, CSI Summer Camp, co-sponsored by California State University, Los Angeles. The day camp takes place on the university campus at 5151 University Drive. An array of forensic investigative science topics will be presented. Included will be an overview of basic crime scene procedures. Workshop breakouts will include: Crime Scene Reconstruction Trace Evidence Microscopy DNA Pattern Evidence Students will take away a wealth of information and hands-on training experience by world premiere forensic specialists.
