program name Computing/Informatics Direction: 0401 Computing/Informatics Educational program Type/Model academic/major specialty and independent components Awarded qualification: Bachelor of Computing/Informatics (or Israel National Diploma) Scope of the program by credits and duration 240 credits are required for achievement academic degree, one credit equals 25 Astronomic hours, duration of one semester 21 weeks, student acquires 30 credits during 1 semester, total duration of the program 4 years (8 semesters, 168 weeks). Learning language: Georgian (part of learning courses are also taught in the English Language) Background for admission to educational program: a) Interbusiness Academy Computing/Informatics student of bachelor program can be a person of a full general education who has e relevant document (certificate) confirmed by the state or other equivalent document, and with the right obtained on the basis of national examination results; b) foreign citizens will be admitted without national examinations according to the rules established by legislation; c) minimum competency level is required to be passed in the English language and mathematics for entering the bachelor program of Interbusiness Academy Computing/Informatics. Within the program since the first semester students are offered base subject of business administration direction together with general education subjects. Bachelor program structure 240 ECTS credits, required for awarding bachelor academic degree of Computing/Informatics within the Computing/Informatics bachelor program, are distributed in the following way: 55 (ECTS) credits compulsory general education courses, including 30 credits for teaching the English language

Within 179 (ECTS) credits the student learns Computing/Informatics major courses, among them 12 credits are for seminar and project implementation in Computing/Informatics. 30 (ECTS) credits Computing/Informatics optional courses 6 (ECTS) credits independent courses which are selected by student from another bachelor program. (The present bachelor program is dual educational program which is implemented on the base of Interbusiness Academy and Ariel state university of Israel. Acquiring 160 credits is done on the base of Interbusiness Academy, teaching the English language is focused as since the sixth semester students will take 80 credits in Ariel University in the English language, also within 160 credits several subjects are taught in the English language and after graduating the program and implementing the project in Computing/Informatics students will take national diploma of bachelor of Ariel University in Computing/Informatics). Those students, who are not able to continue learning in Ariel University of Israel, will do the bachelor thesis in Interbusiness Academy and will take the bachelor diploma in Computing/Informatics. Actuality and Strengths of the program 1. The present program is joint and implemented on the base of Interbusiness Academy and Ariel State University of Israel. Ariel University is one of leading university in the field of Computing in the world market. 2. The educational program has a high university level which supports formation of systemic thinking and developing independence skills during decision making and analysis. 3. This program ensures preparing competitive specialists integrating in international educational field. 4. Professors participating in both Georgian and foreign components are leading specialists in the field of Mathematics and Programming, with great practical and theoretical experience in the aspect of internationalization. 5. The program goal to develop practical skills in Java, C++ Programming, Operating systems, directions of Mathematical and logical thinking, Computer structure, Data Base, Communication program in students.

6. Graduate of this program is given the opportunity for carrier and personal growth, moving to a new level and establishing business relations with foreign companies. 7. Interactive and proven teaching methods, local and global knowledge are applied in the program. Group (team) works, developing professional competences and possibilities are focused in the program. 8. The international aspect of the program supports developing intercultural competences and enhances employment perspective in national, as well as in international labor market. 9. Teaching and learning quality is monitored by Israel side. For this purpose monitoring service of international program is created in the Academy. One of the prerequisites for entering the program is to pass the English language from national examination foreign languages and passing the minimal competency level. The program provides the high level of teaching the English language with the scope of 30 credits from the first semester including the fifth semester and is finalized with teaching professional English. The program goal The program goal is to prepare competitive specialists, who have extensive and general knowledge in the Computational Sciences, Principles of different languages of Programming C, C+, Java, are able to manage affectively Information flows, implementation and adaptation of Applied Information Systems, ensuring information safety, evaluation of Efficiency of Software and data base, working in the field of system, applied and web programming. The program goal is to develop market oriented vision in students in the field of informatics, to obtain basic knowledge and skills in the main directions of informatics Linear Algebra, Numerical Methods, Discretion in Mathematics, Programming Language, mastering the necessary analytical tool for solving Informatics problems. During the study In Israel, Ariel university students will learn the Logical and Programming Language, automatic and formal languages, other theoretical background, prepare a project, which will greatly increase their competitiveness in the Georgian market and prepare the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills for playing on the world market. The goal of Bachelor of Computing/Informatics Program corresponds to the mission of Interbusiness Academy Ltd, who considers public interest and creating of competitive

academic educational programs, which are oriented on the requirements of the labor market considering world experience, developing and implementing of joint programs with appropriate Georgian and foreign educational institutions, training of qualified personnel, which will be adapted continuously to the labor market changing requirements. From specific methods of Computing/Informatics are used: Training It is a teaching method, in which the main attention is given to the practical processing of the assimilating material. This is a method, when the student has an opportunity to develop and strengthen the needed skills and knowledge in the process of specially provided modeling situations. Programmable teaching this is a method, by which the information is supplied by small blocks on a computer monitor. After each block of work a student must perform tasks, which will show the quality and the level of assimilation. This method is specially used while studying the computer programs; Training discussion It is group discussions on specific issues, mainly in small groups (maximum amount of participants 6). The training discussion gives a great effect on the study and treatment of complex material and it is of a big importance for formation of the needed approach; Using computer programs in teaching using this method contributes to going out to the global information space. The use of computer technology raises the level of self education, motivation of learning activities; it has new opportunities for creation, strengthening various professional skills and it is correspondent to the state requirements. Basket method it is a teaching method, constructed on imitating the situation, e.g. student is offered to become a guide at a museum of computer techniques. He/she receives all necessary information about the exponents in the hall from the prepared material. Employment sphere and study continuation Computing/Informatics Bachelor s degree holders may hold positions in: IT Companies and web studios, Scientific research centers, all of the business organization, where is considered programmers activity (Banks, Corporations, Brokers and Dealers Companies and etc.), various state structures concerning Computer Security Issues and etc.

Graduate of Bachelor of Computing/Informatics may enroll in the Informatics Master's and / or other specialties. About the necessary material technical resources for the implementation of the Educational program Interbusiness Academy owns relevant material technical base (Computer Class, auditorium fund resources for providing video lectures and other), which provides all kinds of practical, theoretical and interdisciplinary training. Learning process of Educational program of Computing/Informatics provides the necessary study method materials: Relevant library Funds (books, digital/electronic): modern books, the Internet resources and other informational materials. All students have access to library funds, databases (OPEN BIBLIO, access to the international library network (EBSCOHost (http://search.epnet.com (Electronic journals and books). Information about the human resources necessary for the implementation of the bachelor's program in Computing/Informatics. In realization of Computing/Informatics program are involved professors lecturers of Interbusiness Academy Ltd, as well as Ariel University (Israel). Program Director from Interbusiness Academy Ltd is Doctor of Physics Mathematics Dr. Lela Gachechiladze, from the Ariel University Doctor of Physics Mathematics Dr. Roma Iavich, who ensure the implementation of the program in accordance with Interbusiness Academy and Ariel University. The program s copyright retains the Ariel University. There is international programs monitoring service in Interbusiness Academy to control program implementation, which is managed by Ariel University Professor, Dr. Roma Iavich. The function of the monitoring service is to control intermediate, as well as final examinations and result analyzing, in case of necessity, implement additional measures, with agreement of Ariel University Heads, in the directions of teaching and training process quality improvement.
