If required, our AIS Connect Service provides you with optimized software and firmware versions for your server, which you can also install immediately if you like. A time-consuming search in the Internet is therefore no longer necessary. Your approval allows our specialists to access your server via the Internet in order to analyze and resolve your problems quickly and efficiently. Your Fujitsu Technology Solutions AIS Connect Service Team Activation The AIS Connect Service software from Fujitsu Technology Solutions is copied to your system by ServerView Installation Manager during installation. Fujitsu Technology Solutions recommends you to immediately activate AIS Connect after installation of the operating system. Select the appropriate link in the start menu via Programs -> Fujitsu -> AIS Connect. Subsequent activation is possible at any time. Internet access must be available for activation. All personal details are voluntary. No costs are incurred for a software license. If any system management software has been installed, system data such as serial numbers, firmware versions and driver versions are sent to Fujitsu Technology Solutions during activation. The following functions are available: Messages Start Remote Session Set Remote Policy Set VNC Password Make Smart Poll Close VNC Session End Display of messages received Share the current desktop via VNC Allow or prohibit incoming remote access sessions Set the remote access password Send a connection request End an existing connection End the AIS Connect Service context menu Messages AIS Connect Service is used to provide messages about important information for your system. "Display messages" is used to open the display of current and previous messages for your computer. For example, information about new drivers can be documented there. The button "Recent messages" in the open message window can be used to select and display older messages. "Close" ends the display of received messages. Start Remote Session The Start Remote Session function prepares the AIS Connect agent to share the current desktop via VNC (Virtual Network Computing) with a member of support staff, even if it is a RDA (Remote Device Access) session. A normal VNC session will be established with the physical display, which can t be opened via a local RDA session. The function implies a call to Make SmartPoll function. Set Remote Policy This function provides an opportunity to check incoming remote access requirements and to separately activate or deactivate each connection type. The changes to remote access policy are adopted without restarting the AIC Connect agent. Set VNC Password This function is used to set the password for the tool (VNC), with which remote access to your computer can be established by our support staff. We recommend you to have the password reset by a member of the support staff after it has been used. The new password is entered in the mask shown. With regard to the password there are no regulations that you need to observe. In general, all characters are permitted, a minimum length is not necessary. However, it should not exceed eight characters. Make Smart Poll The SmartPoll function is used to establish contact to the central AIS server quickly and without any waiting. This then becomes necessary if a member of the support staff is to diagnose a problem and remote access to you computer has to be set up via VNC (Virtual Network Computing) or RDA (Remote Device Access) for this purpose. This function is only to be activated upon instruction from a member of the support staff. Close VNC Session "End remote access now" can be used at any time to end a VNC based remote connection that a member of the support staff established to your computer with your permission. About "About" shows the current version data of the AIS Connect software installed on your computer. These data may possibly be queried by a service employee.

Product Facts Issue: November 2013 Product: PRIMERGY PRIMERGY Page 5 / 7 Ultra VNC The program Ultra VNC (Virtual Network Computing), which is included in the scope of installation of the AIS Connect Service software, is used by our service staff for remote access. VNC is a protocol for the remote control of various operating systems. It provides an opportunity to conveniently access Windows PCs. Consequently, Fujitsu Service can with your permission connect up to your system. Several security levels are integrated in the program: 1. As a matter of principle the connection is only possible if the Fujitsu service employee knows the VNC remote access password set by you. The connection can only be established with the password. See Set VNC password for information about how to set the remote access password. 2. When a connection is established, the AIS Symbol in the start bar changes from to so that it is possible to see whether a service employee wants to establish a connection or is connected. 3. During the existing connection it is possible to follow all the entries and actions of the service employee and furthermore, the connection can be interrupted at any time via "Close VNC Session". AIS Connect Service Toolset (Linux only) Set Remote Policy This function provides an opportunity to check incoming remote access requirements and to separately activate or deactivate each connection type. Syntax: AISPolicy <command> [ <device> [ <connection type> ] ] commands are: show enable disable Displays the actual configuration Enables remote session policy Disables the remote session policy If connection type is omitted, all connection types will be shown, enabled or disabled. If device and connection type are omitted, all connection types for all devices will be shown, enabled or disabled. Connection-type is one of the known connection types RAInititate (VNC) or SSHInitiate (SSH). Select the appropriate option in the start menu via Programs -> Fujitsu -> AIS Connect. On linux operating system open a terminal and start /opt/aisconnect/aisenable How can I see if a service employee is connected? On Windows, if remote access is set up, the AIS Connect Service symbol in the icon tray changes from to, thus enabling you to see if a service employee wants to establish a connection or is connected. The option "Close VNC Session" in the context menu enables you to stop the remote connection at any time. Which connection tool is used? To establish a remote connection Fujitsu uses the program Ultra VNC, which e.g. through the setting of a password ensures maximum security. A connection based on Microsoft Remote Desktop Protocol (RDA) is also possible. Therefore our support staff needs to know a valid windows account at your system. For Linux systems the use of VNC and SSH is possible. What is the purpose of the VNC password? It provides you with security by not enabling remote access unless this password is forwarded to our service staff. Our service can only establish a connection to your computer if this password is known. To whom may the remote access password be made known? The remote access password should be made known to no-one other than Fujitsu service employees. This is an additional security level for access to your computer if service is required. Solely the knowledge of this password authorizes our service staff to access your system. What is the purpose of SmartPoll? This command places a request from your computer in the direction of our central AIS server. A member of our service staff will make use of the request initiated by you to in turn send a connection request to you. Only if you in turn respond positively and tell our employee your VNC password can he/she perform diagnostics on your computer. When should the remote access password be set? The VNC password should be reset before and after every time a connection is established. How is the VNC password set? The VNC password is set by using the context menu of the AIS Connect Service with "Set VNC Password". On Linux the command vncpasswd is used to set the VNC password. There is no default password, so the VNC password MUST be specified before its first use; otherwise no remote session can be established. How can I see if messages have been received? On Windows, an appropriate text balloon in the icon tray indicates the receipt of a message. On Linux the messaging functionality is not available.
