National Policy and digitalization There is no digital strategy for Poland No cooperation between 3 Ministries (Science, Culture, Education) A short-sighted policy Weak lobby and influence on politics BUT There are 24 digital libraries (open archives) There is a well working network There is a very good cooperation between librarians Since 2007 there are money on digitalization from Ministry of Culture 2

Open Access in Poland? There is no scientific or governmental policy concerning OA; There are no typical repositories in Poland, but rather digital libraries; We do not use Fedora, eprints or DSpace, we usedlibra (without self-archiving module); BUT There are some OA Journals 26 titles (Termedia Journals, Cornetis, Polish Academy of Science OAJ and EBIB); There are some scientific materials in digital libraries, which are open and free of charge. There are some enthusiast, who promote this idea in the society. 3
