1. Introduction Fast Worklist is an easy to use DMWL - DICOM Modality Worklist Server that provides a data entry service so doctors and technicians will not spend precious study time on data entry and it also reduces data entry errors. Data entry can be performed on a regular PC and by the study time it can be queried by the modality trough the network. It also works through the Internet. It accepts DICOM queries with wild cards from standard DICOM ready equipments. 2. Software installation Fast Worklist installs in just 4 easy steps: Double click on the Fast_Worklist_setup.exe to start the installation and follow the instructions. 1

Select the language that you want to install the software. The language can be changed later on at anytime. 52

If you agree with the licensing click on I agree to go on. 63

Read the instructions and click Next > 74

Choose a folder where you wish to install the software and click Install. 85

Click Finish to end the procedure and start Fast Worklist. 96

3. Generating the Installation Security Key To generate a license key you need first to get your reseller code from your reseller. The system must be connected to the Internet to be able to communicate to our servers. When you have your reseller code go to: Configuration/Licence. 107

This license form will open: Fill the Customer Info with the clinic's information and the Contact Info with the contact person's info at the clinic. 118

After all the necessary information if filled click on Register and the application will automatically generate the key info and will send it to our servers. After that you will receive by email your final key called FWLUserLic.ldf and a file called FWLMods.mod. Just place those files in your application folder and Fast Worklist will be ready for use. Note: Fast Worklist is licensed to work on a single computer per copy. You can make backups of the application folder. If you reformat your machine and restore the application in the same folder on the same computer it will work without any problems. If you loose your key or your computer you loose your license! 129

4. Software Modules Fast Worklist uses five independent views of the database. The main view is the Studies, the other four are Patient, Body Parts, Modalities and Performed Studies. Studies, Patients and Body Parts views are fully editable. The software runs as two independent parts. 1) Data Entry and Management (FastWorklist.exe) 2) DICOM Worklist Service (a background windows service) The Data Entry and Management handles all study/patient related tasks and the Worklist Service handles all DICOM communications and queries. 13 10

5. Data Entry and Management 5.1. Entering a new study To add a new study you must click Add or Ctrl+Ins. The right hand side of the screen will become available for data entry. Browse the Patient ID field to locate the Patient. If it's a new Patient click Add on the right of the ID field. See Patient Management for further instructions. When the Patient data is filled browse the Body Part for the desired part or click on Add to go to the Body Part Management. See Body Part Management for further instructions. Choose the Modality Name. Fast Worklist will always prompt the last modality used. Fast Worklist Standard comes with all standard DICOM modalities. Enter the Requesting Physician. The Created on field is pre-filled with the computer s date and time. The Schedule on will be filled with the computer s date and can be changed for future studies. 14 11 The Study Description is an optional field that depends on your

installation. Just fill it with the requested study description. After all data is entered just click OK to have this patient info available to be queried by the modality. 5.2. Modifying an study To modify a study just double click on the desired study or choose modify and edit the fields. 5.3. Deleting an study To delete a study select the desired study and click Delete or CTRL+Del. You have to confirm the deletion 5.4. Moving a Study to the Performed Tab When the Studies became very old the user can move them to the Performed Studies View as a archival state. Users can make multiple selections and click only once the Performed button. This is a good and recommended practice. 15 12

5.5. Studies Color Scheme Fast Worklist uses a color scheme to easily identify the scheduling of studies. The Studies' view has a dynamic background color scheme that depends on the study date. This is the color scheme. Today's studies have a white background. Future studies have a light blue background. One week old studies have a light yellow background. Over a week old studies have a magenta background. 16 13

6. Patients, Body Parts and Modalities Management There are three database views that provide the data entry on Fast Worklist. Those three views are all managed using the same user interface. There is a powerful selection tool and a print function. 6.1. Patient Management Patients may be added, modified or erased at any time in the Fast Worklist database. Select Patients Tab to view the Patient Management window. To add a new patient just click on Add and type in the Patient information. You may edit or delete a patient at any time. Attention: If you delete a patient from the Patients' view that doesn't mean that this entry was removed from the Studies database. Those are separate database tables. 17 14

6.2. Body Part Management Fast Worklist comes with a pre-filled, fully editable Body Parts in the database that may be customized to fit your needs. Select the Body Parts tab to view the Body Part window and just use the Add, Modify or Delete buttons to customize it. 6.3. Modalities Management Fast Worklist comes with a pre-filled Modalities in the database. Those are the standard DICOM modalities names normally used. The modalities will use those codes to communicate with Fast Worklist. If you have a special need contact your reseller. 18 15

6.4. Selection Tool When filtering is applied, the filter panel appears with a description of the filter criteria. Un-check the x whenever you are satisfied with your selection. 6.5. Custom Filter Dialog Selecting the (Custom) item from the filter drop down list activates the Custom Filter dialog. This dialog allows you to specify the filter criteria for a single column consisting of one or two filter conditions. You can also specify the operator for these conditions. 19 16

The following image shows all the possible operators: Operator Text representation = equals <> does not equal < is less than <= is less than or equal to > is greater than >= is greater than or equal to LIKE like NOT LIKE not like = NULL is blank <> NULL is not blank When using the LIKE or NOT LIKE operator, you can use the underscore (_) and percent (%) characters to substitute one or several symbols in a string value respectively. 20 17

6.6. Print Manager When you choose print in any window, Fast Worklist opens its Print Manager. Users can also do multiple selections for printing. It's a standard Print Manager where all functions have hints. Make the desired choices and print. 7. Configuration 7.1. Options 21 18

Enter the TCP/IP port that the service will use. This number has to match the port that the equipment uses. 22 19

Attention: After you change the TCP/IP port and click on OK the service will be restarted automatically. This can take a few seconds. If a modality queries at that exact moment it will not associate to the worklist. Be careful when changing ports and make sure that all modalities are configured correctly. Mediplus Software recommends that the computer that runs Fast Worklist shall have a fixed IP. Fast Worklist show in the IP(s) window all the IPs that the computer has installed, Users may see more than one IP that means that the computer has more than one Network Interface Card (NIC). 7.2. AE Title Fast Worklisk's AE Title is MEDIPLUS. This is not editable. 23 20

7.3. Language You can change the user interface's language at any time. Available languages are: English, Spanish, French and Portuguese. 24 21

8.Worklist Service The Fast Worklist service starts automatically at Windows start-up. You do not need to have FastWorklist.exe running or even logo on to Windows in order to serve the modalities. The service runs in the background. To make sure that Fast Worklist's DICOM service is running the user can start Windows Task Manager (CTRL+SHIFT+ESC), click on the Processes Tab and check if both FWLServer.EXE and FWLService.exe are running. 25 22
