Dear Prospective Booster Member, We appreciate your support and interest in our volunteer organization. The AW Athletic Boosters Club (AWABC) meets the 2 nd Monday of each month, August through May, at 7:00pm in the high school cafeteria. We meet to discuss the betterment of the athletic programs. Our objectives are: To promote and assist the athletic programs at Anthony Wayne High School. To promote better understanding and cooperation between parents, faculty, coaches, school administration, student-athletes and the community. To assist in the improvement of facilities for the athletic programs at Anthony Wayne High School. To encourage good sportsmanship and high moral standards among athletic team members and spectators. Over the last 4 years we have donated over $60,000 in equipment and supplies to various sports and awarded $7,000 in scholarships. This year we are raising money for new scoreboards on the Softball and Baseball diamonds as well as the Football stadium. We are also working on several other projects. We are always in need of volunteers to assist with many different functions from marketing to disbursement of funds. Please contact us if you are interested. To become a member, or renew your membership, please go to our website, www.awathleticboosters.com, and complete the online application and make your donation via PayPal. This process will allow us to be more efficient and productive with the limited resources that we have. If you prefer, you may mail your donation to the P.O. Box below. The Anthony Wayne Athletic Boosters Club is recognized as a nonprofit organization by the IRS Code: Section 501(c)(3) under Federal Tax Identification Number: 26-3347367 P.O. PALS (Parents At Large) What is PALS? PALS is the parent support group for both Fallen Timbers Middle School and Anthony Wayne Junior High School. Our objectives are: To have a better understanding of our school and the children's role in it; to strive for a higher level of communication between parents and school personnel; to be sensitive to the needs of our school and provide assistance whenever possible; and to combine our talents in an effort to build a better school. We hold two short business meetings per year, one at the beginning of the year to ratify the budget, and one at the end of the year to elect officers. Please watch your email and newsletters for dates. Volunteer Opportunities The most efficient way to staff volunteer needs is to send email blasts from the school secretaries. We also publish opportunities in the school newsletters if possible. This will help parents remain current on needs, so please watch for volunteer appeals throughout the year and respond if you are able to help. Financial Support While most of the PALS objectives can be accomplished without funds, we do offer some assistance that requires money. We help the art, band and music departments, offer class funds for each level, and organize teacher appreciation. Our funds are raised through several avenues. We sell student directories; ads for directories, and AW spirit wear. And of course we accept monetary donations. We are implementing Kroger Community Awards, a Marco s Pizza online ordering event, and a restaurant night (restaurant to be determined), where PALS will receive a percentage of the sales. REGISTRATION PACKET PALS includes two forms in the registration packet. Please fill out the Student Directory Information and Tally Sheet prior to registration. Keeping these papers organized along with all the other papers is important to help streamline your registration. Student Directory Information Form The information on this form is used uses to assemble the directories. Directories contain names, addresses and phone numbers of students, which helps with communication between students and families. It requires your signature to ensure your permission for publication. We also offer an opportunity to place a business card sized ad in the directory, this is a valuable way to market your business to our very supportive school community. PALS Tally Sheet This form is used to keep track of your purchases and donations at registration. We know that we are fortunate to live in a school district where almost every parent is involved in his or her child's education. We look forward to representing you, promoting the objectives of PALS and working with you throughout the year.
