Cabmate Server Software Cabmate is a Linux based application that leverages the power of the MySQL database to manage your fleet vehicle dispatch requirements. Cabmate is intended to run in a Primary and Backup configuration. The use of Virtualization and SAN technology to enhance redundancy and reliability can be considered. The minimum server and workstation specifications for the Cabmate dispatch system are as follows: 1-800-taxista will need to provide a dedicated Server for the Cabmate Dispatch software that meets the following specifications: Cabmate is divided into various Modules. These include: 1.Account Manager 2.Address Manager 3.Fleet Manager 4.Communication Manager 5.CallTaker 6.Supervisor 7.System Manager & Administration These modules are accessed through the Windows based Cabwin and related Client applications. 3.2.1 Street Database Server (for Microsoft MapPoint 2012) In order to leverage Microsoft MapPoint 2012 for use as the underlying street database for Cabmate, a stand alone Linux Server running MySQL and meeting the following minimum system specifications is required. It is assumed that 1-800-taxista will provide a server meeting the following specifications: 6

1.Cabmate Client Software Cabmate is the Windows client application that interfaces with the Cabmate Servers. Cabmate is permission based, and is used by Call takers, Dispatchers, and Supervisors to input information into the Cabmate database and to interrogate the Cabmate database.1-800-taxista will need to provide workstations for the Cabmate software meeting the following specifications: Modules accessible via the Cabmate client include: 1.Account Manager Account Manager Helps you Maintain Customer Account Information and Offer your Customers Enhanced Services Cab mate s Account Manager allows you to maintain detailed information about your Customers including contact and billing information, pickup and destination addresses, and driving directions as well as enhanced service offering tools like account prompts and validations. Account Manager is a database management interface that facilitates the entry of customer account information and account management scenarios in the account database portion of the Cabmate Dispatch System. This database has a record of each customer including the status of their account, their name, address, telephone number, directions to their location, and extra information that you may collect to properly service the account. There are two types of accounts; regular accounts and phone accounts. A regular account customer typically does business with your company on credit, and a phone account customer typically does business with your company using cash or credit card. Because there are two different types of accounts, there are two different ways to add each type of account to Account Manager. Phone accounts are added through the Call taker window, while regular accounts are added through the permission based Accounts window. The following figure illustrates the Account management facilities of Cabmate: 7

3.3.2 Address Manager Address Manager Contains Powerful Tools for Organizing your Coverage Area The tools in Address Manager will help you configure your address database to optimize your geographic coverage and call response. Address Manager has been designed to maintain the dispatch system street directory. 1 800 Taxista compiles the street directory based on your definition of your zone structure and the database used to extract the road network, prior to system turn-on. The street directory contains all the streets in the service area. The service area is the part of the city serviced by your fleet. The street directory divides the service area into zones. The dispatch system keeps track of the location of jobs and vehicles by using zones. Use Address Manager to: Add new streets and buildings Add street and building aliases Restrict addresses, and take addresses out of service Configure zones, localities, and going home aliases Maintain the zip structure The following figures illustrate the features of the Address Manager. 8

3.3.3 CallTaker Cabmate s Advanced Calltaker Environment Has Been Designed for Fast and Accurate Order Entry Supported by the account, fleet, address and system databases, Cabmate s Calltaker environment provides speedy access to information and processing of customer orders for immediate, future or regular dispatch scenarios. Cabmate s Calltaker environment facilitates the entry and management of jobs in the dispatch system. Calltakers enter a customer s job details into the system. The Calltaker window is used to enter the job details for various types of jobs. As a Calltaker, you will receive calls from customers and enter their job requests. The Calltaker window allows you to: Enter standard jobs Enter account jobs Update account information Enter parcel jobs Enter multiple pickup and multiple destination jobs Enter special jobs, including bids, priority jobs, will call, future calls and regular runs Determine the queue position of a job, to estimate how long service will take Determine the approximate cost of a job Determine the approximate location of a pickup address The following figure illustrates the Call Taker screen associated with the Windows Cabwin client application. 3.3.4 CommunicationsManager The Communications Manager allows your supervisory staff to monitor the performance of your communications network and data traffic to and from the MDTs in your Vehicles. The following figure illustrates one of the screens associated with the Communications Manager Windows client application. 10

Supervisors monitor and control the status of zones, vehicles and passenger jobs. Parcel Supervisors perform the same actions for parcel jobs. The Jobs window is another Supervisor feature used for monitoring recently dispatched jobs and reservations about to be dispatched. Supervisor tools are drawn from the following Cabmate system functions. These include: Zone Status Vehicle Suspensions Regular Messages Zone Queues Driver Suspensions 11

3.3.5 Fleet Manager Figure Cabmate Communications Manager User Interface Fleet Manager Helps you Organize your Drivers, Vehicles and Fleets Cabmate s Fleet Manager allows you to maintain detailed information about your Drivers and Vehicles including insurance and banking information as well as allowing you to maintain information on, and assign vehicles to particular Fleets. Fleet Manager is a database management tool that facilitates the entry and management of Driver, Vehicle and Fleet information in the dispatch system. The Fleet Manager window appears when you start Fleet Manager. Use the Fleet Manager window to: Add, modify and delete fleet records Control whether the driver must send a valid Driver ID when logging in Control whether the fleet is disabled Disable the fleet from servicing any account customers Disable the fleet from servicing selected account customers Display which vehicles belong to the fleet Add, modify and delete information for driver rates 12

Backup/Download Zone Configuration Job Search\ Jobs Window System Setup Job Watcher Parcel Dispatcher Vehicle Status Reservation List View Job Changes 3.3.7 System Manager and Administration Set Up Your Global System Parameters With the Cabmate System Manager and System Administrator Using System Manager and System Administrator you can add users to your system, set up your system limits, driver types and vehicle types, switch servers from master to slave, and more. System Managers configure your Cabmate System to apply certain company policies. System Administrators change the Cabmate computer configuration. This manual covers the functionality of the Cabmate System Manager functions and includes a discussion of the Cabmate System Administrator procedures in the final chapter. As a System Manager, you will: Set system parameters and control system access Enter the dates for Bank, Government, School and Commercial holidays Configure the meaning of driver codes, vehicle classes, and driver types Configure the channel map and change company information Maintain form messages and message codes 3.3.8 GPS Features Cabmate has the facility to utilize geographic information drawn from the street database, and GPS position data for each of your vehicles to apply configurable business logic that can enforce the following: 13

GPS Tracking Provides a means by which the location of the vehicles in your fleet can be tracked and plotted on a map (See Tracking Station Software). GPS Zone Verification Vehicles attempting to book into a zone will only be permitted to do so provided that their GPS position is either within the zone, or within a configurable distance from the zone. GPS Closest Vehicle Dispatch On a zone-by-zone basis, it is possible to configure Cabmate to dispatch a Job to the closest vehicle in that zone. Weighting can be applied to make this determination based upon a mix of proximity and time in zone, ensuring that drivers are treated fairly without sacrificing customer service. Emergency Notification If a driver actuates the covertly installed emergency button connected to the MDT, the Supervisor will be alerted of this distress message and will be able to take deterministic action to assist the driver. Distance and Bearing to Pick-Up The Cabmate host can send the geographic coordinates of a pick-up location to the vehicle that has been awarded the job. With this information, the GPS receiver within the MDT will compute a bearing and distance from its current location to the Pick-Up address. This provides a visual representation to the driver The following image illustrates the GPS parameters that are configurable for the Cabmate dispatch software on a zone by zone basis: 3.4 VTrack Vehicle Tracking Portal The VTrack Tracking Station SW allows you host a web portal that will plot the locations of all of the vehicles on a Open Streets map (www.openstreets.org). This management tool gives you a bird s eye view as to the location of your vehicles in near-real time and historically, across your service area. Vehicles can be viewed according to Fleet, or operating state. VTrack also allows you to create user accounts which are enabled to view only specific companies, fleets, or vehicles. This can be valuable in jurisdictions where regulators require access to this information as well. The following figure illustrates the VTrack user interface: 14

This allows the carrier s Caller ID signal to cause an automated Screen Pop in the Cabwin calltaker screen so that account details will automatically be presented to the Calltaker when he or she picks up the phone, thereby speeding the calltaking process. To take advantage of this feature your company must be subscribed to Caller ID with your local telephone service provider and your telephone system must support Computer Telephony Integration (CTI). To ensure functionality 1 800 Taxista may perform a simple evaluation of your phone system. 3.7 Credit Card Processing (CMT) Through its partnership with Creative Mobile Technologies, LLC ( CMT ) 1 800 Taxista is pleased to offer US- based clients credit card processing through the Bank of America.
