Thanks to this technology, a full reconstruction of whole body can be done, which is used in diagnostics and surgical approaches. It allows to perform: virtual gastrointestinal endoscopy (colon, stomach), virtual endoscopy of the spine (only this method allows to evaluate the bone structure of the vertebral canal, extent of congenital malformations or posttraumatic changes), virtual endoscopy of vessels (evaluation of the aneurysm extent and wall dissection), virtual endoscopy of middle and internal ear structures and evaluation of the paranasal sinuses (inflammatory, cancerous changes, examinations before surgical endoscopic treatment of the respiratory system: trachea, bronchus). The highest quality of software applications with 3D reconstruction allow to perform vascular examinations (angio CT) of the brain and peripheral vessels. The precision of the reconstruction is comparable with the classic angiography exam. Images and reports are printed with the dryview laser imager or are available on paper, CD-ROMs or on optical discs. Storage of data on CD-ROMs or optical discs allows to review the images and perform additional measures with the use of personal computers. In the Unit we have a computer system for archiving the images. Vascular examinations: The Unit is equipped with the newest generation Philips INTEGRIS V 500 workstation. It allows to perform rotational angiography (3D view of vasculature with one single imaging run and one contrast injection). The images are available in DSA or classic technique. Magnetic resonance imaging: 1.5 Tesla MRI (Marconi) scanner. Imaging capabilities are designed to investigate central and peripheral nervous system, brain diffusion and perfusion as well as proton spectroscopy. In addition, it is used to perform non-invasive examinations of the vascular system (MRI angiography), either transcranial or peripheral vessels and heart (in angiographic and classic options). High quality of the MRI scanner allows for precise diagnosis of spinal and osteoarticular system diseases (knee and shoulder joints) as well as non-invasive exams of biliary tract (cholangio MRI), urinary tract (hydro-urography) and genital tract. The MRI scanner allows to measure vessel narrowing. Rentgenodiagnostic Unit Registration: (22) 508 15 62
