POLEMOUNT FIELD FIX ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS Polemount Field Fix Support If you have any questions or incur any problems installing or using the new Polemount, please use Miovision s Support System by emailing support@miovision.com. Tools/Equipment Required Phillips #2 Screwdriver M2.5 Hex Head Allen Key Torx Allen Key (included with original Scout Polemount) Suggested Additional Tools Pliers Slot Head Screwdriver Soft Head Hammer or Mallet 5/8 or 3/4 inch Wrench Safety Glasses IMPORTANT NOTES 1. Polemount Fix Instructions 1. Use the M2.5 Allen Key to unscrew the set screw in the Camera Mount. Remove the Camera Mount. Note: Use a rubber hammer to hit the Camera Mount off the top mast if necessary. Removing Epoxied Camera Mounts If you have difficulty removing the Camera Mount from the top mast, please follow the instructions on Page 11 before continuing. 2. Carefully pull up on the video cable to loosen the Rubber Stopper located inside the mast. Pull out the Rubber Stopper. Call 1-855-360-7752 or Email support@miovision.com Page 2
3. Lift the arm lever so the lever is up. 4. Use the M2.5 Allen Key to unscrew the bottom screw of the top most coupler. Keep the screw and the nut in a safe location. 5. Remove the peg from the coupler. If necessary, use a flat-headed screwdriver to pry the peg out from the center. 6. Pull Coupler off the Polemount and keep the Coupler in a safe place. 7. Remove the narrowest (16mm diameter) pole. Make sure the internal video cable is not pulled out. 8. Thread cable through Coupler and put Coupler back on Polemount. Make sure peg hole on coupler lines up with hole in pole. Call 1-855-360-7752 or Email support@miovision.com Page 4
9. Pull out approximately 8 of cable from the end of the pole. 10. Insert Pinching Peg into the coupler s peg hole. Make sure the edged point and hole are horizontal. 11. Firmly push in pinching peg. 12. While firmly pushing peg in, insert in the previously saved peg screws through the side holes of the pinching peg and coupler. 13. Using a set of pliers to hold the nut, tighten the screw with the Allen Key. Call 1-855-360-7752 or Email support@miovision.com Page 6
Camera Mount Instructions 1. Remove Camera Shroud from the plastic camera mount with the Torx Screwdriver. 2. Place the Camera Shroud on its face. Holding the New Camera Mount on an angle, carefully slide it onto the Camera Shroud in a bottom-up motion. Make sure the cable channel on the mount faces away from the camera lens. 3. Screw in wing screw from the side that DOES NOT have the threaded insert. Be sure to screw it in well enough to hold the camera mount in place. 4. Rout cable in between channel of camera mount and firmly push camera insert into the coupler. 5. Push down lever arm to lock Camera Mount in place. Call 1-855-360-7752 or Email support@miovision.com Page 8
Polemount Base Can Instructions 1. Flip Scout Polemount on its side. 2. Using a Phillips #2, unscrew two (2) opposing screws that hold the Bottom Plate to the Can Top. Loosen the other two screws slightly, and tap the Bottom Plate to causing it to swing outward. Remove the remaining screws and remove the Bottom Plate. 3. Before steps 4 and 5, carefully apply Loctite to each of the screws for the Can Base Add-On and Can Base. Call 1-855-360-7752 or Email support@miovision.com Page 9
4. Place Base Add-On and hand-tighten the screws. Make sure the Can Top goes over the Base Add-On. 5. Screw on the Base Add-On to the Can top with the previously obtained screws. 6. Make sure all wire is within the can. Place the Base Bottom Plate on the underside of the Base Add-On and hand-tighten the provided screws. If there is a large space between the Base Bottom Plate and the Base Add-On, use the provided shims to fill in the gap. 7. Securely tighten each screw on Base-Bottom plate to the Base Add-On. 8. Removing Epoxied Camera Mounts 1. Flip the Scout Polemount onto its side, and point the camera mount in a safe direction. (Recommended that you wear safety glasses). 2. Make sure each level of the Polemount mast are collapsed and locked, leaving the top mast section extended half-way, and locked. 3. Put a 5/8 or 3/4 inch wrench around the fiberglass pole, directly against the camera mount. With the wrench gripped firmly, hit the wrench with the hammer.
