5. Enhancements and Fixes for version 2.5.10 1.1. The server can now be disabled and enabled manually from the Server menu option. This does not effect any other products utilizing the CfService. The server can also be disabled automatically if critical errors are repeatedly encountered, once again, leaving the CfService running for other applications to continue processing. 1.2. Logging is now confined to just the trace log and the service log, (previously there was an email success log, email failure log and the service log). 1.3. Create!email now calls on Create!form log viewer to display the log files. 1.4. The Create!email GUI has been updated with a number of enhancements to make it easy to use and to accommodate some of the new enhancements and fixes mentioned. Changes should not impact on day to day processing. Enhancements include extra options in the menu, gridlines and iconic representation in the processing window. 2. Fixes 2.1. Outlook and Outlook Express would not work without CfService being logged on as a specific user. 2.2. Apostrophes in email addresses would fail. 2.3. The first email would fail when due to the connection not being fully initialised. 2.4. When UNC path names were used to define where files are copied when using the %cpemailcopyto: parameter, they would fail. 2.5. Directory structures specified in the %cpemailcopyto: parameter could not be created if they did not already exist. 2.6. Email configuration settings were not being saved to the registry correctly. 6. Enhancements and Fixes for version 2.5 1.1. A summary table of all %cpemail parameters has been included in the manual. 1.2. Log file settings can now be viewed and changed without having to stop the service. 1.3. CfService no longer responsible for logging - CfMessage service logs all activity of the CfService and Email server. 2. Fixes 2.1. The %cpemail S parameter now correctly handles <<placeholders>> 2.2. Log file creation, management and deletion now works correctly. 2.3. Shared License files are now installed with the Create!email install. 2.4. Loading and unloading of third party.dlls has been fixed so that timeout will not occur during processing and will only occur after the specified period of inactivity. This change in cfservice effects products which have a configurable time out setting namely, Create!email and Create!form server for JDE One World. Filename: Create!email 2-5-10 Upgrade Notes.pdf Page 6 of 7

2.5. If connection to the SMTP server fails, Create!email will fail and will not try to resestablish a connection. This avoids the occurrence of Create!email entering an infinite loop waiting for the connection to comeback. 2.6. Extra exception handling has been put in place to help avoid errors returned from VIM, crashing the service. Create!email will where possible log the occurrence of the error and attempt to fail the email gracefully. 2.7. Create!email now looks for files with the file extension.cpemailtemplate and if not found then looks for files ending in.tpl. If no matching file is found then the email job will fail. 7. Enhancements and Fixes for version 2.3 1.1. Create!email now supports logon authentication on SMTP email servers. 1.2. Create!email now supports delivery status notification for SMTP email. 1.3. New header parameters. Consult the User Guide for the full list and description of each. 1.4. New SIGNATURE parameter provides the ability to specify a signature in the header or the template file which will be appended to the body text of the email. 1.5. Ability to specify a set of one or more delimiters with the DELIMITER parameter, used to break multiple email addresses into single addresses. Specifically needed for Lotus Notes support but works for all email transports. 1.6. The email parser now accepts multi-line text in body. 1.7. The email parser supports copying of the spool file (file attached after the header) to a network location using the COPYTO parameter, and inserting a HTML link to the location into the email body text. Support includes automatic renaming of the file if the target filename already exists. 1.8. The email parser now recognizes a special tag in the body (or signature) text (<<InsertSpool>>). This tag will be replaced by the spool file as text. The spool file will not appear as an attachment. 1.9. In conjunction with Create!form server 2.3, Create!email 2.3 now supports security settings on PDF attachments. 1.10. Create!email now runs as a service. 2. Fixes 2.1. CC and BCC now work correctly for SMTP email. 8. Enhancements and Fixes for version 1.1 1.1. MAPI, VIM, and SMTP protocols supported. 1.2. Support for return to sender.
