FAKE IT TO MAKE IT THERMAL SIMULATION Continuously growing requirements and more and more complex applications make some sophisticated preparation indispensable in particular in regards to performance and costs optimization in a market changing more and more rapidly. By involving thermal simulation in system development early on, thermal problems can be detected and remedied at an early stage. It offers the most efficient way to visualize temperature development and flow conditions. In a worst case scenario neglecting thermal management can lead to the complete failure of a project. In order to help their customers reach their goals faster, EKL AG has enlarged its development department substantially and further optimized their processes. EKL AG works with the simulation software FloEFD manufactured by Mentor Graphics. FloEFD is based on CFD methods. In combination with the latest hardware EKL AG now owns increased processing power to keep simulation times short. From now on EKL AG offers three attractive development packages (Basic, Plus und Premium) which, apart from designing the cooling solution, also comprise thermal simulation. According to the complexity of the project one of the packages is chosen while costs stay transparent. To ease choosing the suitable package the specialists with EKL AG are offering a system check in advance, free of charge. According to how things go, extensions or reductions to other packages are possible during the simulation phase. MANUFACTURING TECHNOLOGIES Extrusion One of the most common production technologies in the field of electronic cooling is aluminum extrusion. Experience made over decades has turned EKL AG into a specialist as to design, optimization and feasibility assessment of your extrusion cooler. Favorable production in Asia and the so generated low tool costs enable us to supply even small and medium series of a tailor-made cooler. Heatpipe Today the use of heatpipes in modern cooling engineering is indispensable. This technology of more than 30 years found its way into mass production more than 10 years before via the application in CPU coolers. The thermally highly conductive copper pipes work by means of phase change of the medium contained and so can convey hotspot to a suitable heatsink in your system effectively and rapidly. From the individual assembly as mounting kit up to finish soldered heatpipe coolers EKL AG offers a wide range of solutions. The use of qualified, high-end heatpipes gains a long-term stability which will always meet the high demands of our customers todays quality. Skived Fin Small form factor systems of low heights require optimum cooling in the smallest space. The skived fin procedure allows EKL AG to offer coolers made of aluminum or copper with heights of less than 30 mm which gainan extremely large surface without any additional thermal resistance caused by soldering or crimping. The skived fins are smoothly combined with the bottom plate. Because of favorable tools small series can be done as well.
